She moves Fish back into the shadows with her for cover and safety, gently rubbing their back as though to try and spark some awareness back into their unconscious body. They were still breathing, thank the gods, but she did not know enough about medicine or its like to know how bad the injury was. Her understanding was that any time unconscious was very bad indeed, and the longer the seconds went by where Fish was not wakeful and alert only brought her closer to tears.
Before she can fully register the subtle puff of their feathers, Fish is suddenly wriggling. With a gasp of surprise, Del instinctively lets go, letting Fish use her forearms as a springboard to roll off of her and away.
She slips out of the shadow with them, and sinks to her knees, one hand braced on her chest. Good gods, they were okay. They had woken, as though nothing had happened.
...Though, did they appear shaken? She supposed that was to be expected, given what had happened only seconds before, but it only further added to her worry. She stands, scooping some of the exploded bits of the still-moving, reduced-in-size void-orb creature in a kerchief and tucking it very far away in her satchel, where she could not accidentally touch it, before following Fish hurriedly. "Fish, wait, please!" Del calls trying to stop them-- she reaches a hand out, but does not touch them, sensing the were too overwhelmed to be accepting of that at the moment. She looks down at them, worried. "I'm glad you're alright, but you took a very big hit to your head. You need to rest. Uh." Her mind whirs for a moment, trying to think of a solution. "Would you like to ride on my shoulders? Or on my back? I know you can walk, but I would feel better if I could carry you."

"Fish is capable of a self-assessment, nothing is broken, Fish does not have a concussion nor any other neurological issues. Vision is fine, hearing is fine." They nod firmly.
Fish did seem physically OK, mentally and/or emotionally would be a lot harder to tell. In the immediate wake of everything it seems as if their main focus was simply leaving this place. Put as much distance between themselves and whatever that thing was.
The notebook is taken out as Fish starts to scribble down notes as they hop along. Fish follows the same path they did to get in, at least their memory was in tact. They didn't seem keen on wanting to be carried or coddled though even if it was a better option. Part of Fish knew they shouldn't exert themselves to intensely, but a larger part of Fish was far too stubborn to admit that.

Del looks down at the little Kenku, a crease in her brow and a slight pleading look on her face that looked like held-back insistence. She knew Fish had been quite capable this whole time, despite their incredible youth, but she also knew that those who had suffered head injuries were not the best at making judgment calls for themselves. Much less those of children. And it was her job as an adult to make sure the child in her care was safe, even if they hated her for it.
And yet, she could not bring herself to enfringe on Fish this way, no matter how much of a responsible idea that might have been. She did not know what the word 'neurological' meant, as the study of such internal science was quite beyond her, but they seemed... alert.
"Alright. I believe you. But if you trip or stumble, I'm carrying you, and that's that." Del replies, equally as stubborn with her squared jaw, but relenting in the face of Fish's insistence that they were fine. They were not fine, in her opinion, but there was not much she could do about it.
She had a headache of her own to contend with.
Del follows close to Fish as they start to exit through the tunnels, her ears listening for any changes that might indicate a rushing of water. Occasionally, she lifts a hand to press against her orbital bone, as though trying to shove the migrane back down. After a few moments of silence, she shifts her gaze to Fish, and their notepad, curious as to what they were writing.

Fish keeps their crossbow out, but holds it loosely at their sides. They know they are relatively safe, but they also figure they may have to assert their independence with Del should they so much as stumble. The bird remains upright for the trip though, eventually putting the crossbow to do aforementioned note taking.
At a casual glance, she can see sketches of the holes they walked through, the origin matter itself, and notes crammed into the margins. No single centimeter of the page is left unmarked as they put in as much information as possible. To the outside observer it looks like absolute chaos and carnage made of ink and vellum. Though....someone with Del's careful eye could see there was a very specific pattern with which Fish's eyes moved.
It was an incredibly complex cipher that would be nearly impossible for anyone but Fish to decode. This might be one of Fish's most proud accomplishments if they were being honest. Making and breaking ciphers was a pretty basic job for low-level theives, it's low risk. But every so often there was a code too dense that it wasn't worth the time. That's what Fish wanted with their notebook. Good luck trying to parse through it all.
Fish confidently hops out into the light at the end of the tunnel, squinting a moment to let their eyes adjust before glancing around.
"Fish believes the job is complete. All that is left is to alert the posters and collect the reward."

Following behind Fish and keeping a very close eye on them indeed, Del catches glimpses of what they were scrawling down on their pad of paper. There's no way for her to understand what it meant-- such machinations of Fish's mind were quite the enigma-- but she knows a complex work of art when she sees one.
She considers asking them about it, but given their reaction to her help earlier and her insistence on keeping an eye on them now, Del thinks the better of it. Better still, Fish does not falter once, hopping along, unconcerned, as if nothing ever happened.
Were it that were true.
Unable to shake the feeling of unease and worry for the young kenku, Del proceeds in silence through the tunnel, looking over her shoulder at the distant sounds of water and wondering if the... whatever that thing was would reform and come after them. She doubted it, but couldn't be sure.
Regardless, they soon come to the end of the tunnel, breaking into the faint light of the Marsh Flats beneath the sagging canopy of trees. Del pauses at the entrance, bent over with her hands on her knees, taking deep breaths as she gathered herself. Her head still ached, as though something internally had been cracked open, but was sure she was not injured. Odd. Perhaps a little sleep would fix the sensation.
She lifts her eyes to watch Fish's signing, and gives them a wan smile. "Good. Yes. I have the proof here as well. Some pieces of the creature." she pats her pocket and looks over her shoulder one last time at the Flood Road entrance, before starting up the path back to relative safety. "Lets do that and find a place to camp. I could use a rest."
