Javal looked over to Thalia and said excitedly, “Oh Eclipse City I’ve been there a couple of times for security work. The city is very beautiful at least from the couple of times I’ve been there. Oh, in what ways are the people prissy? The couple of people I’ve met from there are a little snobbish and entitled. Oh, a tradesman and a holy teacher seem like cool jobs. My mom owns a tavern and my dad disappeared one day mysteriously. My former captain became my father figure once I joined his crew. I’m sorry to hear that your parents suck do you have any family. Wait you have a debt to your family. How come that’s not fair is it now. Your family is supposed to have your back and forgive you for your mistakes. You shouldn’t owe anyone anything Thalia, live your life freely with no worries”, Javal says looking above at the stars.

Thalia listened to Javal ramble. It was equal parts refreshing and strange, not understanding his sentiment about finding Eclipse City beautiful. Unfortunately for her, her past experiences horribly warped her view of her home, so she let out a heavy, weighted scoff.
“Yeah, right.” She muttered, a bitterness to her tone that could only come from experience. There was something so deeply wounding about hearing others talk highly about her family. There wasn’t enough alcohol in the world to help her forget or understand.
Her fist clenched around the gourd in her hand, billows of black smoke twining around her fingers. “My mistakes…do not deserve forgiveness. I deserve it. All of it.” There was a crunching sound, and Thalia snapped back to reality as she cracked her gourd. The smoke had dispelled into her skin, as if nothing had happened at all. Sighing, Thalia ran her fingers through her hair.
“Damn it, not again.” The moon elf let out a deep sigh, struggling to stand up. She swayed dangerously, reaching her arms out to balance just barely. She then reared back and chucked the gourd into the water, throwing it as far as she possibly could. Thalia was properly drunk, and she puts her hands on her hips. “Sorry, didn’t mean to do that. I think I’m just drunk. I’m glad your life’s looking up even if you lost you crew. Maybe by the time I have to go back…I’ll talk to them. Right now I’mma go…drink some more.”
Thalia didn’t look to be ready to go anywhere, but she was alright with that. So long as she passed out the better. “What’re you fixin’ to do? Actually, fuck it. You're coming with me, I'll buy you a drink, mkay?”

Javal looks up to see the stars. It's a beautiful night and says, “I’m not sure why you think Eclipse City is so bad but whatever it is I can respect it. I haven’t seen much of the city myself, only just explored for a couple of days at most so you may be right in your belief as a local”.
Javal then looked over at Thalia’s ominous words of mistakes and smoking bellowing from her.
“Hey Thalia are you alright there I believe you are smoking are you currently on fire”, Javal then grabbed a nearby bucket filled it with seawater, and was about to throw it at Thalia before she was out of her trance.
He then put the bucket down and chuckled, “Sorry about that Thalia I thought you were on fire, are you okay”.
Javal laughed at Thalia’s invitation for drinks, “I’d love to go let’s get some sake”, he then walked alongside Thalia following her to the tavern, the two then entered and sat down at the bar.
He then calls for the female orc bartender over, “Hello there madam may I have a bottle of sake for me and he then turns to face Thalia, “What would you like Thalia”?

By the time they arrived at the bar, Thalia looked midway through passing out. The walk to the tavern sobered her up only marginally to her chagrin, mostly leaning on Javal until they arrived where they needed. It was like she lit up as they entered, standing up straight as soon as she caught a whiff of alcohol. The two sat at the bar, and when Javal ordered sake she immediately piped up. “Fire whiskey. Gimme a tankard!” The bartender gave the moon elf a look of vague concern, looking at Javal, before shrugging her shoulders and ultimately deciding she would cut her off later. Thalia and Javal drank the night away, with the moon elf holding her alcohol a little longer than she thought she could. However, the time came when Thalia couldn’t drink anymore, and after a bit of discussion she said goodbye to Javal. She watched him leave until she ended up falling asleep at the bar, her hand around the tankard handle and her mind blissfully and toxically blank. Tonight was rough, but at least she met another person through it, right? Javal was nice enough, so that was good. Thalia was eventually woken up and she went to her room, exhausted and dizzy. Maybe she’d meet Javal again, maybe they could get another drink. As soon as she opened her door to her room and flopped onto her rented bed, chittering from the window alerted her of Phigaro’s presence. She had no energy to greet him, but she could feel the songbird griffon paw at her back, chittering and curling into a ball on top of her before resting as well. That night, Thalia slept somewhat soundly, dreaming of new friends and possibilities.
