Shaa looked at the cheesy creation with a bit of concern. That is definitely not a chocolate chip muffin…. Shaa had eaten his fair share of sketchy food in his travels. He pretty much had an iron stomach, actually three of them but he didn’t advertise that, so eating wasn’t usually an issue. But there were two things about this that gave him pause. The first was that Veliky was half goblin. And anyone who had survived goblin cuisine knew enough to double check the list of ingredients before eating lest you get an unwelcome surprise. The last time Shaa was in a goblin town, the muffins had bugs in them, on purpose. The second concerning item is that the food was made by blixbots which, at least as far as he knew, didn’t have taste buds. All that being said he didn’t want to insult Izzy or Veliky for that matter.
Heyyyy let’s give it a go then. Giving it a final look over, Shaa jams the entire thing in his mouth and swallows hard. The taste that hits his pallet is hard to describe without profanity or references to peoples close relationships. It’s so good! Thanks so much. Toren, how’s the scone. Toren is finishing the last bits of his pastry. I like it. It’s no bitter anguish mind you, but I would eat it again. The Mephit licks the tips of his finger’s seemly satisfied by the treat. Mephits were not known as generous complimenters so that was probably high praise for the scone coming from him.
Umm oh great then. Thanks Izzy, nice work. I would have liked to see the maid’s outfit. Toren nods his head in agreement, snaps his fingers and they vanish once again. They find themselves outside a small farm in the countryside. Shaa doesn’t recognize the idyllic scene but he’s knows their next target has to be close by. Toren points to an old barn where music can be heard wafting from the open door. Checking some of the local animals, Shaa pulls out a metal bird whistle and a note that reads Cantio, Keep up the skills, you never know. Happy Hearth Day Shaa. Shaa ties the whistle and the note around the neck of a large, but non magical, goose. Picking the goose up, his goose friends start to follow beind them as Shaa approaches the open barn door.
He starts to get concerned about losing the element of surprise as the geese seem to be getting louder and louder the closer they get to the door. Shaa tosses the goose into the barn hearing a loud scream as he does. Soon, the gaggle of geese go flooding into the barn attacking it’s occupant, illiciting even more screams . Shaa busts out laughing and runs back to Izzy. Inside joke, he will be fine….I think. With a small shake of the bag, they are gone again, re-emerging inside of a large library. Turning to Izzy, he asks. I don’t suppose you know a guy named Ulrich do you? Glasses? Dude has to be in here somewhere.

"Yeah, they said they didn't have any, which is, like, wild." She shrugs, pulling out her own Cheesy Bacon Bomb Blixt Cake. It looked so bizarre-- that just made it all the more enticing. "But this came recommended by an automaton covered in mustard, so it should be amazing, right?" Lifting her cake in cheers to Shaa, Izzy goes in and takes a large bite.
Oh. Hmm.
She swallows, and holds up the cake thoughtfully, examining it. Well. It did exactly what it said on the tin; that was a Cheese, Bacon, Cake bomb. "You know? Not the worst thing I've had by a long shot. This is actually pretty good." She finishes off the rest of the, objetcively, horrible pastry, either not bothered by the... less than ideal flavour, or genuinely enjoying it. Either way, she eats it all.
Hearing that Shaa liked it, Izzy grins; if he's lying, she can't tell, and that's a mark in his favour in her eyes. "Good! Glad we're all set, then. And now I know what ya like." She winks; she would rememeber chocolate chip muffins. "Ooohh, it's part of the gift! Next time you you see your friend, who knows. Maybe she'll keep it on the construct, huh?" She shrugs. It was a long shot, but who knew?
Their next teleported location is unfamiliar to Izzy, but looks pleasant enough. Idyllic. She wondered a lot about country life, living simple. Probably a lot of chores involved. Bleh. But the music was nice. Izzy finds herself leaning towards it, tapping her foot a little to the rhythm. She loved a good song.
Izzy waves as Shaa heads off to do whatever it was he was going to do this time, but she got a front row seat to the shenanigans. There was... a goose? An angry goose. Honking very loud. Izzy's laugh becomes a bright cackle of delight. She had zero context for why Shaa did that, but the screams of alarm as the goose is tossed in, and then the louder ones as the door closes, have her in stitches. She's wiping her eyes by the time Shaa comes back. "Maaan, I don't even wanna know, that was gold all by itself! Hooo."
She's still giggling at the next location, though she shushes herself as they emerge in a library. "Ooohhh..." She whispers, eyes sparkling. Books. Wonderful, piles and piles of books. Before she can get too distracted, Izzy looks back at Shaa, taking the little package and the note.
"Not familiar with him, nope! But I bet I can fiiind hiiiim." She gives him and Toren one last parting grin, and then slips in between the bookshelves, alligator like tail trailing after her.
It takes a little time to finds the man with glasses Shaa had described, head among a stack of books, reading intently. This should be relatively easy to sneak up on him and drop off the little package... but how to make it fun?
She ducked down, sliding beneath the table. There, seeing the laced boots, Izzy quietly ties the laces together, and sets the package down on his left, beneath the table, so when he fell, he would see it.
Slipping back out from under cover silently, Izzy moves back behind the book case and works her magic once again.[1] One of the books on the stack jumps up and waddles away on its corners toward the edge table, making a leap of faith just as Ulrich looked up. She sees him stand and, grinning, vanishes before he can trip and hit the ground. Though that sound resonates through the library a few seconds later as Izzy walks back up to Shaa, firing finger guns at him. "I think he's absolutely floored by your gift." Izzy has to stifle her cackle, hearing the noises of confusion behind her. "Done and done~."

As Shaa watches Izzy slide away between the rows of books, an ancient librarian is staring at Shaa from behind a desk. Admittedly, they probably didn’t get a lot of Minotaurs at the library. Shaa himself was educated by Centaurs I.n an enchanted grove of trees. To make sure he wasn’t just being paranoid, he went and sat at a table and, sure enough, the crusty octogenarian’s eyes followed him everywhere. It was a good thing that he personally wasn’t planning any nonsense. It was highly likely however, before the day was out, whatever opinion that the little book tender had would be very firmly cemented. Shaa considered eating a book just to mess with her but that cake from earlier was still making its rounds through his intestines.
While he was waiting, Shaa considered the note and small package that Izzy was delivering. The note itself said Ulrich. I managed to grab this. Next time, you go first. Happy Hearth Day. Shaa The package itself contained the scales of a certain mermaid that nearly killed Ulrich, Shaa and Cantio on a recent and very janky quest. They had all agreed the details of the quest should be kept quiet lest more adventurers meet an untimely end. That didn’t mean however they couldn’t joke about it. Shaa chuckled quietly to himself but loud enough to illicit a SHHHHH! from the librarian. Shaa stared at the tiny woman and with one finger, slowly pushed a large book from the table to the floor with a loud THUMP!
The tiny woman waddled over to Shaa and planted her feet. Shaa could have sworn every bone in her tiny frame popped as she bent down and up to retrieve the volume from the floor. Holding the book to her chest, arms crossing the front, she quietly but still somehow loudly as only librarians can, addresses Shaa roughly. Can I help youuuuu? She hisses through a very limited number of teeth. Noooo Shaa says mockingly. I’m waiting for my friend, she’ll be right back…probably. You know you can always wait outside. But then I couldn’t stare at you. The woman gruffs indignantly and shuffles off to return the volume. Shaa watches as Izzy comes skipping back obviously pleased with whatever happened.
How did it go? Just as Shaa said it, a large crash was heard from the back of the library. He does not even need to look back to feel the daggers projecting from the librarian’s eyes piercing the back of his skull. Umm we need to go. As they start to head out of the building, he knocks a couple more books to the floor for good measure.
Once they were clear, Shaa whispers Ok we are getting close to the end. Yeahhhh! Toren cheers from the bag. Yeah man, you are almost good. Shaa pulls out the large bone from earlier. It may not look like it, but this bone belongs to a frog man that….well let’s just say he won’t need it anymore. Toren? On it. The trio vanished, reappearing outside of a graveyard that Shaa knew very well. He also knew why Astrid was probably here. This one was going to be rough. Shaa breathed deep and turned to Izzy. I got this one. Would you mind snagging some flowers or something. I need to be careful with this one.

Giggling maniacally, Izzy follows after Shaa, flipping finger guns at the librarian with a saucy wink as she twirls on the ball of her foot mid-stride. Once they were outside, Izzy clapped her hands. "Hell yeah! That was great-- almost there?" Her smile widens, hearing Toren's happiness from the bag. Poor lil evil consumer of misery and despair. "You've done good work, bud! Made it an absolute blast."
They disappear and reappear to-- oh. A grave yard. Well, this was morose but Izzy could dig it, liked the ambiance, the vibe. Cool place for a party. She doesn't say these things though, knowing better than to voice the thoughts that drift automatically to the top of her head. Whoever this person was, it was someone Shaa cared about a lot, and it would not do to idly crack
The request for flowers makes her blink. "Yeah, sure man, you got it." She says without hesitation. Considering how they handled most things so far, Izzy is surprised to hear that they have to be careful on this one, but she trusts the extent he means that. And so, she will follow suit.
Izzy casts around for some flowers. Flowerrrs, flowerrs. She moves to the edge of the path and starts looking. Some wildflowers were beyond the trees here and there, and she starts to collect them carefully. Some of the first dandelions of spring, lilac lupine... not a lot of flowers out just yet. Deep along the tree line, she spots some lily of the valley, and picks the small stems of that, as well as some snow-drops and heather. She fills out the bouquet with some juniper branches, which makes for a lovely smell. Perfect.
She heads back to where Shaa had left her, and bites her lip in careful concentration. Pulling up some tall grass, she starts braiding them together to tie around the flowers, and hands it to Shaa with a grin. "For yooou, dear Mr. Rhuun."

Shaa takes the beautiful bouquet in hand and smiles at Izzy. This should just take minute. It seemed like only yesterday since Shaa was here last. A cemetery with a gentle field as a background, the sound of Shaa’s hooves are muffled under the soft grass as he walks towards a headstone in the distance.
As expected, by the headstone is a small person with a large hammer laying next to her. It wasn’t hard to figure out who it was. The headstone belonged to a member of the fighters guild who had died recently. Vikram. The man had been a personal friend of Shaa’s and the gravity of his loss still weighed on him. It was not that long ago that the two had trudged up a mountain and fought off a yeti on the snowy peaks as part of their training. Shaa wondered were his spirit was now, hopefully in a place of rest. Walking up to the grave, Shaa jams a displacer beast claw into the soft earth.
Hey there kid. He says to the young woman. Back again hunh? Shaa pulls out the frog leg bone and pokes Astrid with it. Look what I got for you? I had to go all the way back to the swamp to get it. Boy was that guy pissed! Shaa laughs hard trying to get Astrid to crack a smile. He places the flowers on the headstone and the bone next to her. It will be ok. You probably aren’t ready to talk about it yet, just…let me know. He hands her a note that reads Hey Shorty, Ribbit Ribbit Ribbit KERPLOW. Happy Hearth Day Shaa. Shaa was about to touch her shoulder to try and comfort her but pulled away at the last moment. Sometimes, you just needed to be alone, to process, to consider, to resolve. Somewhere far away, a bird was starting to sing.
Shaa motions for Izzy to follow him out. When they were far enough away, he shook his head and forced a smile. Welp, I think that about wraps it up. What do you say we head out to the closest tavern and tally up the score? It had been a wild ride. It was amazing to have been able to go so far and see so many of his close friends and companions for the holiday, even if they didn’t see him. As a bonus, he even made a really cool new friend who probably didn’t even think he was out of his mind. A rare find indeed. I know just the place! With that, the pair vanish and appear in the back room of a small house. Three men are sitting around a table with paper, pen and what appear to be several small hand painted figurines.

Since it's going to be a moment until Shaa comes back, Izzy takes her cigar out again for another smoke. It's quiet here, if a little... morose. But she supposed that was the nature of a graveyard. She knew better than to ask for information about that sort of thing; if it wasn't business, it was personal, and Izzy was all to aware that was a fine edge to walk with her level of curiosity. She might get involved.
But, while she waits-- she gets the feeling this one will take some time-- she goes back to the flowers, bored, and starts picking a few more. With deft fingers, muttering under her breath as she chews on the end of her cigar, Izzy fashions a flower crown of snow drops, lily-of-the-valley and dandelion. Something for her hands to do while she waits. Better than getting into unnecessary trouble, at least now.
When she hears Shaa approaching again, Izzy lifts her head and grins, and follows him away. Hearing they were about done gives her a sense of satisfaction, stretching the smile-- though she can see Shaa's is a bit strained. Sounded about right, given where they had wound up. "Oooh, you know I do. Aaand," She delicately tosses the flower crown she made up in the air, where it lands in a swirling ring around one of Shaa's horns. "Score! --Yeah, Made you a little somethin'." She claps her hands together once, smoke filtering out from around her grinning smile. "Let's see, how did you describe your cultures way of-- ah, yeah.'It's not legal to be taller than me, but I'll let you off with a warning. Happy Hearth Day, Izzy.' There!" She snickers to herself, thinking that was fairly clever. He'd been running all over giving people gifts, it only seemed fair he got one too.
Letting herself be teleported once more she lifts her arms up in a stretch, getting ready to have a little relaxing time-- oh. She blinks. This was a house, with some people sitting around a table. And figurines. This didn't seem like a tavern. Her eyes shift to the Mephit in the bag, brow lifted. Just what was he doin'. "Uh. Howdy folks, hope you don't mind the intrusion?" she announces themselves straight away, friendly and beaming as ever, as she looks over the figurines on the desk. Her eyes betray the subtle uncertainty, flicking her glance up to Shaa to see if this was part of his plan as well.

Shaa looked around the house and was pretty confused. It didn’t look familiar and the men didn’t seem to care that they had materialized out of the Ether. Hey Toren, what gives? I had to bend time, space and several dimensions to get you here, but I thought you should meet these guys. These guys? Why? They look like the least magical people ever. Not one set of pointy ears between them, no horns or tails, pretty pedestrian if you ask me. Oh, they are wizards….just maybe not in the traditional sense. They built your world. What! Now I know your messing with me. Hang on.
Shaa walks up to the three who are are so engrossed in their conversation that they barely notice him. Hey, who are you guys? The first one looks up. Koul, and what are you doing in my house? The second one chimes in. Chawain, and what he said. The final man just looks at him and grunts flatly Grotto.
We got teleported here by this Mephit, through other dimensions apparently. You can’t do that, can he do that? Inserts Chawain, annoyed at the utter cheek of the pair. He definitely can’t do that. I’ll give you 20 reasons why. Koul holds up his hands. It’s fine, just don’t be annoying about it or break lore. Shaa is utterly confused at the situation. He walks over to the table and picks up a couple of the figurines. The first looks like Izzy and the second looks eerily similar to himself. He hands the first one over to Izzy and looks closer at the one in his hand. Is this me? Dang I look awesomely awesome. Shaa takes the figurine and starts knocking over the other figurines making Pachew Pachew noises. He accidentally breaks the arm off of one of them and tries unsuccessfully to reattach it. Ummm anyone have some glue? Ughh seriously what did we just say? I am so going to post about this in a month or two. Chawain snatches the figure and heads off to find the repair kit.
Sorry about that, I tend to break stuff. Yeah we know. It’s one of the reasons you are so popular and yet so annoying all at that same time. Shaa scratches his head and shrugs. I am what I am I guess. I’m a funny old guy at heart. Koul and Grotto give each other a knowing look. Anywho. If you guys really did make the world, thanks. I’m having lots of fun in it. Shaa reaches into his bag of the infinite and pulls out a “thank you” cake. He can’t do that! Chawain calls from the back. Is it chocolate? He can probably do that…but here’s how he could have done it better. Koul shakes his head. We get the gesture, just don’t make it a habit ok? I couldn’t get back here if I tried. Shaa says with a shrug.
With that the two vanish again and appear in the bar where they first met. Shaa looks around and laughed. Toren had vanished, nowhere to be seen. The world is a circle. I didn’t say so before but thanks for the gift. And for the day. I hope we can adventure together again some day. Shaa gently touches the flower garland on his horns. He then proceeds to hold out his hand to give Izzy her present. Just a little something to remember me by. He hands her a large golden ring….still attached to an Ogre’s finger.

Izzy watches with amusement at... wherever they wound up. Weird clothes, strange group of small humans. They appeared to be working on something... hardly a tavern. She snaps finger guns at Koul, Grotto and Chawain in kind, winking. "What's good? Sorry to drop... in..."
Strange, that. They seemed to... know Shaa. And Shaa sort of seemed aware of them, too, to a degree. They had these little figurines-- oH that one was hers, she realizes, as Shaa hands it to her! "Oh well, heeey there, good lookin'." Izzy winks at her figurine; She recognized the curly hair with a gasp of delight, but-- she wasn't the tallest one! There was another couple figurines at the table that were taller! Izzy's mouth popped open in offense. Oh, this would not do.
"Sooo, yeaaah, love the vibe you guys have goin' on here, you're doin' some amazing work, love the whole... thiiiing," She furrows her brow at the table, trailing off. Was she seeing something she wasn't supposed to see?
...Cool.
Izzy gave her head a shake; there were more important things than the mystery of the universe! Specifically being the tallest! "I was just wondering, could you maybeee make my lil figurine bigger than all the others, like by at least a foot or six? I think your project would really benefit from it, I promise I won't abuse that I swear-- WHY ARE WE LEAVING NOW?"[/color] She protests, being pulled back as Shaa is finished breaking things (broke the arm on that one... interesting) and giving people their gifts, she pats herself down furiously and tosses a flask of whiskey at the group. "DRINKS ON ME, PLEASE CONSIDER THIS A BRIBE."
As they teleport back, Izzy is still gigglig quietly to herself. She doesn't know where the hell that was, but she plans to forget about it in a hot second with some alcohol in this here tavern. She looks up at Shaa, grinning, "Aaah, you're welcome, big guy. I sure hope we do! Thanks for inviting me along, it was a blast."
Izzy balks a little-- a gift? People didn't give her gifts. She cautiously opens her hand as Shaa places withiin it a beautiful golden ring.... attached to a dismembered ogre figure. Izzy gasps, delighted, and throws her arms around Shaa in a hug.
"This is the nicest thing anyone's ever given me!" She all but squeals, ecstatic. "Thanks, Shaa, you're the best." She lets him go with a light pat on the shoulder. "You sure know how to show a girl a good time. Why don't we celebrate by getting ourselves nice and sloshed, eh?" Grinning, she leads Shaa toward the booth from earlier to order a celebratory round of the Good Stuff for them to waste.
An incredible, hearth warming day all around.
