In the end, caverns were the choice, and to the caverns they went, which was just as well: by the end of their trip, there was so much snow Vorn could barely see in front of him - something that can be very inconvienient when you don't quite remember if a strucuture was even there in the first place.
What mattered was, it paid off, and soon, they would be a lot warmer - especially since Leandros was so kind and so willing to go further ahead to see what was what in that place.
"I'll get a fire going, worry not - yell if you need anything," he told the human with a curt nod, then gestured to the owl, who dusted off some snow off her wings and gave the knight a curious, unblinking stare. "She'll follow, just in case. If you need to, raise your hands and she will carry you a small distance away. Don't ask me how."
With a little shrug and a smile of good luck, the dark elf turned his attention to the dwarves.... and to his new mission of talking them into burning a small portion of their goods for the fire. It wouldn't be an easy assignment, but the biting cold outside would help him convince the diminutive fellows that not freezing to death was better than losing some profit. It'd take a while, but he'd get there.
For Leandros and the owl, the journey further along the cave would reveal it to be relatively short and providing only one direction: forward. There were stakes of ice up the strucuture's ceiling, and here and there, one could hear water dripping down that wasn't frozen yet. While still cold, the place was decidedly more comfortable than out in the blizzard... and they probably weren't the only ones who thought as such.
Deep down the last recess of the cave, there were noises coming: conversation of some sort, and growls from some creature which would tell Leandros there were at least three being sharing this place with the rest of the team.
