"Mmmm... feels good!" Blue Raspberry replied, giving Astrid a thumbs up. They nodded proudly at the chairs in the middle of the room, their arms crossed in front of them. They wanted to put more stuff in their room, and they had a lot of stuff they could probably choose from!
"What else should I put in here? I want to put lots of stuff!" they turned to Astrid and asked excitedly.
They reached into their slimy stomach and started pulling out random objects, showing them to Astrid for an opinion and then either placing them somewhere in the room or putting them back into their stomach.
"What about this?" They asked, a stone tombstone for someone named Smitty Warman Johnson that was completed with a stone star shape on top on the ground in front of them. It was a bit heavy, so they had to remove it by lying on the ground and then standing up.
"Where did you get that!?" Astrid asked, exasperated.
"I dunno." Blue Raspberry shrugged, but they took that as a no and lowered themself back onto the stone, reabsorbing it nonchalantly.
"How about this?" they asked, pulling out what looked to be a slightly rotted ship's figurehead of a dragon with several barnacles still attached to it.
"Let's mount that on the wall." Astrid responded immediately, a glint of excitement in her eyes. Blue Raspberry set that against the wall to mount later.
"Ooh! This!" Blue Raspberry pulled out a huge, mechanical arm that Astrid might recognize as belonging to Buffalo, that big jerk bot. Without getting an opinion, they placed the arm on the floor against the wall, believing Astrid would definitely approve of such a trophy being in their room.

As initially surprised as Astrid is about Blue Raspberry's treasures, she really ought not to be. The ooze will eat anything and everything that looks interesting. She enjoys watching what they pull out of their insides, the things they thought were tasty or what they're proud to have. Buffalo's arm sends a wide smile across her face.
"Oh, yeah, we're mountin' that one front an' center! That one's a real trophy!" she giggles. "I've got Buffalo's head downstairs in me workshop!"
The two of them make a sort of plan of how they'll organize all of Blue's favorite treasures that they don't necessarily need to carry around for their day-to-day. She absolutely doesn't let them leave any tombstones or things that really should not be found in their house because of possible criminal implications or general superstitions. Astrid may not have been entrenched in dwarven culture, but she has a few superstitious tendencies about certain things that crop up from time to time.
After a while, the room is full, looking so much like a typical junk room in a short time. Astrid wonders what Cantio will think of it, but she decides that maybe she'll just tell him to steer clear of this room. Her stomach grumbles, and she remembers that they were going to try cooking together!
"Oh, let's go back ta the kitchen! We can make dinner fer Cantio! And us!" Are either of them good at cooking? Not particularly. But Cantio's taught her a little bit about how to cook basic things. She rushes to the kitchen and starts pulling out various pots and pans and utensils and whatever seems interesting from the icebox. They can cook anything if they just make it up! Right?
Maybe it's better if Cantio helps them... But no! It's a surprise for him! So she gets to work, making it up as she goes.

Blue Raspberry pulled out all sorts of items ranging from actually fascinating pieces of treasure to trophies from fights to complete garbage, but all of it was their treasured possessions that they wanted to display in their room. Soon, the room was as full as they could make it, though they did listen to Astrid if she told them something couldn't be left in their room for some reason. They thought the tombstone was really cool though, but oh well. They'd come back to mount a lot of the stuff on the walls later, which should free up room for more stuff on the floor! They wondered what Cantio would think of their room. They couldn't wait to show him!
The ooze followed behind Astrid into the kitchen and started to help cook something for Cantio. Well, they tried their best to cook. They had absolutely zero experience with cooking since they could eat just about anything, and without needing to cook it first, but they'd eaten lots of cooked food before and it was definitely tasty! Cooking it themself sounded fun!
The icebox had a pretty decent variety of foods in it, mostly staples like flour and other grains, but it also had some meats, cheeses, and lots of eggs. They didn't know what did and didn't need to be cooked or what parts were and weren't edible for normal people, so they let Astrid take the lead.
"Ooh, I like these, how about making these?" Blue pointed to a bunch of eggs that were gently packed into a wooden box lined with straw. "Does Cantio like these? I really like them, especially the crunchy part! Ooh, and these!" they pointed to some tomatoes that still had the leaves on top. "Ooh, I've never seen these before! Are these tasty?" Blue asked, holding up an avocado.

Together, the two of them pick through the ice box, and Blue Raspberry picks up the crate of eggs. "Oh, yeah, eggs are easy I think!" she says with a smile. "That'll be good practice, and ya can eat the shells fer sure! Shells make good compostin' too." Then she thinks to explain what composting is. "Ah, that's when ya put food scraps in a bin outside ta make good soil fer gardenin'." She learned that one from a book about housekeeping and landscaping.
Taking the crate and setting it aside, Blue Raspberry pulls out other fruits and vegetables, and she sets the ones she thinks would be good in an omelet aside. When the avocado is presented, Astrid's head tilts and she looks at it curiously. "I... don't know what that is, if I'm bein' rightly honest," she says. "We can find out though!! Give it here!" She takes it, then she pulls out a cutting board and the biggest knife in the block. With a powerful downward stroke, she cuts right through the avocado, pit and all. Then she offers one half to Blue Raspberry, picks up the other for herself, and does a little toast with them before taking a big bite.
Without removing the skin or the pit, it's an unpleasant experience with mixed textures. The skin doesn't tear easily nor does it taste good. The soft green center is really odd too. And what's with the giant pit? Without having really even gotten a good bite, Astrid pulls the grass fruit from her mouth, lips smacking in distaste. "Oh, I didn't like that one bit. Tastes like eatin' grass pulp. Here," she says, offering her half to Blue Raspberry, the living garbage disposal. "What d'ya think?"

Why would anyone throw their food scraps outside when they tasted so good? Blue Raspberry just didn't understand at all. They doubted compost tasted as good as egg shells and had no idea what good soil had to do with guarding something.
Blue Raspberry took Astrid's half of the avocado and ate it happily. The ooze didn't have a problem with eating someone else's leftovers, or trash, or anything, really. "I like it! It's like three different flavors at once! Wood, grass, and leather! Yum!" they replied cheerfully, picking up another avocado and eating it whole. They really liked the taste of wood, grass, and leather, and had eaten all three before. Their tastes were questionable as an ooze, even finding things like rocks, glass, and metals tasty. They might not be the best taste tester for Cantio's meal, but they'd give it their all.
"Do you think Cantio would like it? Does Cantio like the taste of wood? I think the little wooden ball in the middle is my favorite part. What if we only put that part in?" Blue took two more avocados, placing one on the counter for Astrid and eating the other. They looked through the shelves some more for anything interesting or tasty looking. There was one section of the shelves that was just entirely filled with bottles of different colored liquids with labels on them that Blue couldn't read. Blue grabbed a few of them and showed them to Astrid.
"What about these? Can we cook these?"

At the suggestion of putting only the pit of the avocado into an omelet, Astrid's face kind of scrunches up unsurely. "Ehhh..." she mumbles. "Given I don't know how yer s'posed ta prepare an' eat this green thing, maybe we don't put it in the omelet. That pit won't cook down, an' I don't think Cantio's teeth will take it. Let's save it fer later." With that, she picks up the leathery lump and puts it back in the icebox.
She watches Blue Raspberry explore the kitchen and come across the shelf of various flavors of BlixtTM. "Oh, that's all BlixtTM, the stuff Miss Veliky's company makes. She stocked us up with a buncha it when she gave us the place. I don't think none of it is magical like whatever Knight gave ya in the underground. Most of 'em are fruit flavored or like...oddly specific meal flavors," she says, taking a couple of bottles off the shelves and looking at the labels. It's at this point Astrid realizes she never really looked at BlixtTM too closely before as a product. Most of her interest has been in the mechanical products of Platinum Corp. "Cheesy Bacon Bomb? Salted Pork?" The girl takes a bright green one off the shelf. "Avocado?? What even is an avocado??"

"Hmmm, okay." Blue nodded. They forgot about the teeth and the chewing thing people did. Of course Cantio did that too, duh! Once Astrid put the avocado back in the box, Blue took the avocado out of the box again and ate it themself. They liked these weird green lumps even if Astrid and Cantio didn't. More for them!
"Blixt...?" Blue Raspberry mumbled, looking at the shelves of bottles. That name sounded oddly familiar. Oh, that's right! Miss Veliky had said something about Kandy Korn Blixt when they'd gotten back to her after the whole thing in the desert, hadn't she! That must have been it!
Cheesy bacon bomb? Why would anyone want to eat a bomb? Salted pork sounded kind of good though. Blue took one of the bottles of green liquid that apparently were labelled "avocado", whatever that was, and popped the cork out of the bottle and stuck the entire bottle into them to taste it. They actually liked it a lot! It reminded them of the weird green things they'd just ate.
"Mmm! I like it!" Blue said and took some more bottles off the shelf to try, popping the corks out of some and forgetting to do that with a few, just swallowing closed bottles whole without really thinking about it. But, of the flavors they actually did open and taste, they liked all of them. Some were sweet and fruity while some were salty and one was kind of funky, but the ooze's palette wasn't a picky one in the slightest. Even the unopened bottles they liked eating, just enjoying the taste of glass. Their favorite was probably the avocado, though.
Once they were done their taste-testing tour of the kitchen cabinets, it was time to start cooking! The main dish decided upon would be an omelet fit for a Cantio!

"Aye, that's right," Astrid says, nodding. She watches her ooze friend look through all the bottles and then just start taste-testing all of them. Somehow, she manages to keep Blue Raspberry from drinking every bottle of BlixtTM, getting the cabinet closed and redirecting their attention back to the task at hand: cooking an omelet.
Working together, the two of them pick a few ingredients that would probably work well in an omelet. Astrid's not well-practiced at cracking eggs or chopping vegetables, and neither is Blue Raspberry. Things are uneven, a couple of shell shards make it into the egg mixture unnoticed, and the pad of butter they put into the pan was more of a half stick that quickly burns with the high heat. Together, they pour the mixture of a dozen eggs, roughly chopped vegetables, and bits of ham into the huge frying pan and watch the mixture slowly come to a bubble. With some effort, the two of them manage to flip the concoction over to fry the other side, revealing the quite burned underside.
They decide that'll be the inside of the folded omelet.
Eventually, they complete the serving plate-sized egg abomination of an omelet, and Astrid cuts it into servings, mostly carving out what she thinks is a normal portion for Cantio and then the rest of it in half for her and Blue Raspberry to share. She carries the plate to the table and calls for Cantio, who emerges from his room with a curious expression hidden partially behind his mask.
"We made ya dinner!" Astrid proclaims proudly, serving up each person a plate at their now three chairs at the little breakfast nook.
"What's this?" Cantio asks, coming over. "Dinner?" He draws his hand up to his chest, flattered and touched by the gesture.
"Aye, our first dinner as a family of three!" Astrid says with a bright smile. She plops down in her chair with a fork in her fist.
The tiefling's tail flicks back and forth behind him. "Oh Astrid, B-Blue Raspberry," he stumbles out the knight's name, "that's incredibly sweet of you." With a certain element of grace, he takes his seat across from Astrid. Blue Raspberry's seat is between theirs on one side. He claps his hands together excitedly, looking over his vegetable and meat speckled serving of omelet. "This looks excellent! Bon appetit!"
Blue Raspberry grins and echoes, "Bone apple teeth!"
The three of them dig in, and Cantio quickly realizes that this is not nearly as appetizing as he expected. To be honest, he's not sure what he expected from a mysterious knight and a child he's only given a couple of cooking lessons to. His hand covers his mouth, an act of modesty but really to cover the surprise and overwhelming sense of nausea from eating the half-burnt, half-runny omelet.
"What d'ya think?" Astrid asks, watching intently.
"I-It-" Cantio chokes down his mouthful and smiles, though pain hides behind it. Eggs shouldn't crunch. "It's wonderful! Th-Thank you!"
Astrid grins over at Blue Raspberry and takes her own big bite while the ooze attempts to feign chewing. Her expression looks concerned. This isn't how she expected it to taste, but...she's eaten worse. If Cantio says it's good, then it must be! So she muscles through and continues to eat the rest.
It's certainly an interesting first dinner for the household. Cantio decides he'll need to man the kitchen more often after this. The rest of the evening is filled with friendly chatter as the three of them start to figure out exactly what their bizarre lives together will look like.
