Appearance: A boy possessed of all the nostalgic trappings of youth, Cashmere simply exudes vibrance. Whether it's his flaxen hair, his unblemished complexion, his golden eye, his spry frame or just his mercilessly playful demeanour, he glows with a gleeful energy that makes him difficult to miss.

As if to accentuate this liveliness, he wears an archetypal witch-hat that's rather too large for him (necessitating near-constant readjustment). His outfit is complete with similarly theatrical apparel, including a cloak, a frilled tunic and many occultist baubles.

However, there is something he wears that evokes more morbid curiosities: a bandage around one of his eyes. Its pale colour means that it's usually the last thing that someone notices about Cashmere's appearance, but its macabre implications retain attention thereafter. In fact, Cashmere hasn't lost his eye so much as he never had it - born with a medical condition that stunted its development and left him with only one functional eye. It rarely bothers him, however, unless he's teased about it.


Personality: Energetic, naïve, gullible, oblivious, sympathetic: these words describe Cashmere to a tee, though he wishes the last one didn't. In fact, Cashmere actually yearns to be meaner; but his natural empathy often hinders him from doing so. You see, Cashmere dreams of growing up to be just like the beautiful and awe-inspiring modern witch: powerful, confident, unapologetic and ruthlessly sassy. He's unwaveringly passionate in this pursuit, studying magic and rudeness in equal measure. Alas, he has a long way to go in both departments.

Though passionate and earnestly talented, Cashmere would accomplish exceedingly little if not for his heroine (and adoptive older sister), Cypress. Much of Cashmere's growth, as both a mage and a person, can be attributed to Cypress' stalwart guardianship; as she makes up for most everything Cashmere lacks (namely, street smarts and skepticism). She supports him wholeheartedly; and, in turn, he supports her. When he realizes that Cypress is struggling with something, Cashmere will drop everything - sometimes literally - to leap to the aid of his 'big sis.'

Contrary to tradition, Cashmere greatly dislikes being referred to - and refuses to refer to himself - as a warlock. After all, he's a witch at heart.
