I am writing in this journal because one of Oleaae's men threw it into my hands and told me to keep note. I will do as told and keep note, but what to keep note of was not specified, so I will merely write what feels correct. Captain Oleeae led us out to the Moonglade for what she said was an important mission. Aaranay says her interests lie with our employer, not our mission. It is none of my business. Either way, she forbade me from spending all night in our inn room, and so I wandered the Moonlit Docks. I walked back and forth about three times until a woman made eye contact with me and I felt obligated to approach her. She claimed to sell Dvory trinkets. I know a bit about those.

I have made a grievous error. A strange man appeared in Captain Oleeae's quarters with an assassination request for Zarius Rha'Oriyn, and he specifically requested for me to carry it out. An agreement was made, despite her displeasure. I tracked him to the Deadwood and immediately lost a fight before it began. It was embarrassing. It is surprising he did not murder me on the spot. Instead, he showed mercy, even taking me back to this strange little bar back in Darkveil City, where I obtained a glass of milk and met two cats. It was nice.

I got sent out on mission with one of Zarius's employees-- a man named Cyran-- and two of his apprentices, as well as a medic to stop a caravan headed for the Arid Mesa. The whole thing is guarded by mechanical constructs. I know a lot about constructs. I am one, to a degree. Just made of different components. Either way, I figure this will be a very strange mission.

Zarius	A vexingly powerful (and generally vexing) tiefling man Askr was once sent to assassinate in the Deadwood, who surprisingly did not opt to murder Askr on the spot. In the time that's passed since they first met, Askr has come to respect and care for Zarius as something of a father figure; he associates Zarius with safety, love, and warmth, and views him as one of the first people who have taught him how to really live. Askr hasn't taken losing him well, to the point where he's more than prepared to give anything in order to bring Zarius back, no matter where it leaves him. In his eyes, it's worth being broken if it means Zarius gets to be whole. "I wish you were here. I wish I could've done something."	Askr to Ashes	Elm
Cyran Asiliari-Fenestra	An elven man who works alongside Zarius that Askr was once sent out on a mission in the Frost Gale with, as well as Miss Delaela's husband. Askr has always respected him as someone who is kind and gentle, and while they haven't had very many opportunities to interact, he's always been very aware of the fact that he held Zarius's respect for a reason. Ever since Zarius's death, however, Askr's opinion on Cyran has... shifted a little, namely for the worst. He wants to hate him for being the one to kill Zarius, but he can't properly make himself do so. All he can feel toward Cyran is sorrow, muted anger, and envy towards the older man for having the strength to make a decision he no longer would be able to make. "Give him back." Nyr	A half-fellblood young man that Askr first met on a mission in the Frost Gale, and promptly escorted to Zeinav afterwards due to his budding interest in him. The two have gone through a number of tribulations together, and as a result, have formed a sincere bond with one another. They don't get to spend a lot of time with one another considering their differing lines of work, but Askr genuinely treasures those moments with Nyr, and conveys that feeling by staring at him. A lot. He's not sure why Nyr comes to the forefront of his mind when he thinks about the people he likes most, or why he considers being around him to be so special, but he does know that Nyr makes him feel warm inside. Caedes	A half-changeling, half-vampire that Askr was once sent out to the Frost Gale with, who has now become one of the people Askr loves most in life, seeing him as a second parental figure. Despite the initial icy reception he once got, Caedes seems to have warmed significantly to Askr, and in turn, Askr adores his company and effectively blindly believes whatever Caedes tells him is true. Caedes is one of the few people Askr isn't even remotely ashamed of seeking affection from, and his approval means the world to him. Since Zarius's passing, Askr hasn't really known what to do or how to be there for Caedes in a meaningful way outside of the encounter within Caedes's nightmare. Issala "Izzy" Arodre	An older fellblood woman, and easily one of the strangest people Askr has ever met. While he was initially extremely dubious of Izzy and her claims and intentions, Askr has since warmed to her significantly, valuing her insights and her capacity to be an utter menace and terror to anyone causing any problems. He has also even taken quite well to the nickname she's given him-- "Quicksilver" -- even if he doesn't quite know how to express it. "Miss Issala is... nice. But still very strange." Delaela Asiliari-Fenestra	There are few people Askr can say kinder things about than Delaela; they met as part of a Winter's Crown Red Rogue run-- which, Askr prefers to not think about the fact that they accidentally stole from his father figure--, and he remembers her primarily for her kindness and gentility throughout it, as well as how formidable and capable she proved to be. She's a kind woman, and Askr likes her smile a lot. His feelings toward her are a little more complicated now that Zarius has passed, if only because of her association with Cyran, but it begins and ends there; he's sad about losing Zarius and sad about what Cyran had to do, and by association, he's sad when he thinks about Del, now. Leandros Aurthurian	A skilled, noble knight Askr met in the woods of the Marsh Flats a long while back, who he has since come to regard as something of an idol. Askr views Leandros as the picture-perfect warrior, and the ideal man: he's strong, powerful, and still unfailingly kind at the end of it, and while Askr values his kindness, he also wonders if maybe it's a little misplaced... and feels just a little jealous, even if he isn't sure what of. Cantio von Lumen	A fellblood Askr has met very, very briefly while handling the crab mishaps in Sol City. Admittedly, Askr doesn't know much about him, just that he seems very anxious and that he was being followed around by a very big crab. "So many crabs... he seems nice, though." Iryla	A young half-elf lady Askr met for the first time when he and Zarius rescued her from the snow in the Frost Gale. While their interactions have been very sparse, Askr already has a very high opinion of Iryla: she seems friendly, she's resilient, and he knows he can trust her. He also sees a lot of himself in her, and thus, considers her someone he'd like to keep as a close friend. "Miss Iryla is... like me. We should look out for each other, then, yes?" Astrid Stormstone	One of Askr's most unlikely companions. Astrid and Askr met for the first time while hunting Wyldmares in King's Valley, a hunt which splintered into an admission of their shared sorrow over Zarius's passing, and their individual feelings on what he'd left behind. Askr came to trust her quickly, going as far as to seek her out specifically in order to put together a plan to raise Zarius from the dead. He thinks of Astrid as a very strong person, in every sense of the word, and he sees a lot of himself in her. He's thankful that she's there, and that she understands, and that she's the one he went down with to go and try to bring Zarius back. He can't imagine doing it with anyone else. "I'm happy we met. Shitakibo	One of the two strangers Askr encountered as part of a strange investigation into odd happenings in Moonveil Forest. Askr finds Taki generally pleasant and nice to be around, and has appreciated her guidance and protectiveness throughout the cavalcade of oddities and entities thrown their way. He does find her a little strange, but in the same way he finds everything strange. "...she's very nice... and very tall when she chooses to be..."	'Round the World in Faeghty Days	Maple
Shaa Rhuun	One of the two strangers Askr encountered as part of a strange investigation into odd happenings in Moonveil Forest. Askr isn't quite sure what to make of Shaa-- he's bold, forthright, and doesn't hesitate one bit, but he has all the power to back up his mannerisms.
