Through the evening mist and along the shoreline, a ship sailed, it's aim seeming to be the port as a few voices could be heard from the deck. One strange thing however was that there was no flag causing a bit more trouble in identifying the ship. It wasn't the biggest and was rather scratched and filled with repairs but a ship none the less. As it draws nearer one voice could be hear above the others. "Steady on madam Rayes! Sails to starboard for docking mister Glis!" it boomed. upon reaching the dock with anchors dropped a figure leaped from the boat and dusted off his jacket. Enjoy yourselves while we are here eh? Have a little fun but no trouble for now" The tiefling winked before sauntering off the docks and beginning down the street. He whistled a tune, flipping a coin in his hand as his tail swayed behind him a bit just enjoying the time on land and looking for a bit of fun here or there or just a tavern to get some fresh ale from.

This day in particular had been quite the eventful one for Zyshio. His long white hair was pulled back tight and held into a ponytail by a simple piece of fabric he had allowed for his wife to tie as gracefully as she possibly could not too long ago. As per usual, his attire was almost that of a noble, though with the regalia and bright gold trims and signs of true status entirely lacking. He paced forward at a gentle walk, one most of those around him were far outdoing. He was headed this evening to the tavern in order to grab a drink with one of the men from the guard to hear more about his son's progress. Valdred wasn't the type to openly speak of his own progress unless aggressively encouraged, and Zyshio just didn't have that kind of energy anymore so instead he casually relied on subterfuge. It was easy seeing as how he himself wasn't entirely dislikable though he had a very known lackadaisical streak when it came to things outside of his own family.
He sat at the bar motioning over for the keep, asking for ale for them both. Zyshio himself was finally returning to his magical studies in an attempt to enter into the mage's guild. His child had grown into a young lad who no longer really needed his protective, borderline overbearing, tendencies, but it didn't hurt for him to know how his child was doing. He did want to be prepared if he would actually need help after all. Upon finding all the information he had hoped and realizing everything was fine, the guard needed to go return to his own family and this left Zyshio sitting at the bar with another drink. It wasn't often that he left his home in order to have a night on the town, and his wife trusted him with such privilege every now and then. He would go ahead and order food as well now, sure that anything made by the tavern would be just fine.
He watched various patrons' approach and return once ordering food and drink. He really had it made as far as the homelife went and now he pondered to himself as to whether or not he should perhaps become a little more invested in meeting individuals outside of his inner circle and expanding his horizons. It wasn't that he couldn't simply continue bookkeeping for the trading company he currently spent his time with and be satisfied at that, it was that now that things were slowing down for him again, he needed something to actually occupy his time that had previously been taken up by raising a child.

The roughish lad smirked as he swung open the door to the tavern and entered followed by a few crew who moved to tables to relax and enjoy. The captain however headed to the bar and leaned against it looking over the barkeep with a grin "Well quite handsome aren't we? I'll take some of your finest ale dear" he grinned setting some coins on the table. He took a seat not seeming to mind the bartenders eyeroll and sound of annoyance at the others comments as the male tapped his fingers along the bar letting his gaze roam around the room. His tail swayed behind him a bit as he wondered what fun people could be around.

“... And then, just when all hope seemed lost, I managed to cast my final spell, a powerful fireball that blasted the dragon right out of the sky!” Morrigan Moonweaver was currently perched on top of a table, voice loud enough that anyone in the tavern could hear their tale. The charlatan currently had a decent-sized crowd, all hanging onto their every word like it was gospel, gasping as Morrigan wove their story. Some erupted into applause as they finished their story. Morrigan grinned, revealing a row of sharp teeth, the smile of a conman who knew they had ensnared the right audience.
“And my secret? It’s all thanks to my patented new dragon repellant, designed and brewed personally by myself- Zeinav’s Great Wizard of the Wastes!” They held up a glass vial in their hands, one filled with a lavender swirling liquid. “And for a limited time today, I will be selling my wares to you all, the fine folk of Moonglade!”
There was nervous, excited chatter as the villagers all murmured to themselves, but none immediately stood up to take the deal right away. Morrigan decided to sweeten the pot with honeyed words and a charming smile. “Worried if it’s not the right product for you? Well, take it from a wizard personally- you never know when a dragon may show up in your village! And at this low price, there’s no reason not to invest!”
This was one of their more classic scams- there was little chance of a dragon showing up at random, but it was easy to pawn off a couple of bottles of the fake-elixir and make some money all while giving the fine folk of Moonglade the added security that they would be safe. And their lies would likely never be discovered! It was a win-win!
They leaned against their seat, waiting for the solars to flow in. There were a couple of interesting looking people against the bar, and more than enough people to scam. Yes, tonight would be an interesting night, they could feel it.

Zyshio rapped his fingers against the bar top gently as he was passed by the interesting man who dared call the barkeep handsome. It wasn't far-fetched. The man was rather brutish, a bit hairy, well built, yet again Zyshio found his mind wondering only to shake his head and bring him back to present reality. He watched as the dashing and clearly slick of tongue individual made his way to a table. He had an air about him that tugged at Zyshio's interest, but not enough to make him want to move from the bar quite yet.
On the other side of the room was another equally entertaining individual who had enthralled a group of sheep clearly buying into nearly every word of a dragon repelling elixir. Zyshio thought about it a moment. What could possibly actually repel such often unreasonable creatures? After not too long, he simply allowed the thoughts to slip away as it was giving him a bit of a headache attempting to run through a book he had read some years ago on herbology. Using a point of reference in the moment was much more convenient than digging through the muck of the last fifteen years of his life. Trying to remember something from before then was giving him a slight headache.
He took yet another swig before turning about to face the room all together in his seat and simply observe others. His eyes turned onto the one with the tail perhaps a hair longer than anyone else out of nothing but sheer curiosity. The other wasn't awful looking himself, and he had taken time enough to notice, but then went back about looking at others. He simply wasn't the type to talk to another first; whether it was out of shyness or indifference, who could possibly tell? His food finally came and that had him turning back around to face the bar once more.

The tiefling male grinned and glanced to the long white haired male at the bar near him and gaze a little wink as he caught his gaze before also turning his attention to the other tiefling spouting off about dragon repellant. He gave a small chuckle at such an idea as he downed his drink and turned to lean back on the bar, arms crossed and looking at the seller "Good thing your handsome eh? Doubt that would work mate but ya do speak quite well" he remarked with a glint of amusement in his eyes. This could be fun. Quite fun indeed. He turned his head to the white haired male down the bar "What do you think charming? Think it would work?" he questioned waiting to see how the two would respond

Morrigan nearly sold their entire stock by the time they decided to take a break and grab a drink at the counter. One could only prattle on for so long before they became parched! “Ladies and gentlemen, if you need me, I’m going to be at the bar! Don’t forget to tell your friends that Morrigan Moonweaver is in town!” They waved, winking at the crowd before sauntering off to the bar.
There was another tiefling at the table, and a white-haired man who seemed to be locked in the beginnings of conversation when Morrigan sat at a nearby seat like they owned the place. Their coin bag clinked, the sign of a good day of sales. Morrigan was already feeling quite jubilant, so they waved down the bartender. “Good evening, sir. Drinks for the bar are on me this fine day.”
To anyone at the bar that might have been interested, Morrigan decided they might try to sell some more of their wares. Maybe one of these good looking gentlemen would be interested in buying a little dragon repellant.
“Sorry to interrupt your conversation, folks, but would either of you be in need of any potions this evening?”

"Potions..? No need for such things." Zyshio kept the response a bit simple. He did look each of the tieflings up and down once more. The red one with the flicking tail seemed to be interested in causing trouble and the other had already caused trouble offering up the idea that no potion could keep dragons away. It wasn't bad to let people live in their fantasies. Maybe in some sense, it was a bit chaotic to offer up something so far-fetched, but to Zyshio, those who didn't have the bravery to question such a thing, should perhaps find out whether or not the elixirs could indeed hold one of the fiercest creatures alive.
For a moment, Zyshio found himself pondering as to whether his thoughts perhaps in a sense made him evil. Inherently, good or evil were very arbitrary. He didn't wish harm upon others so long as they did not wish harm upon him generally. He found himself slipping into some sort of disconnect trying to categorize the things he had previously done in his life as good or evil, but after not very long rubbed his temples and shook his head of the thoughts.
"You two are most certainly different from most of the individuals I've seen around this city. You're each.. what are they called.. I believe there is a correct term... hmm. Irrelevant. Are you all new to moonglade? Welcome." He smiled softly and waved the bartender back yet again. "The night is young. Another round for the three of us if you would. I'm afraid I can't sport the entire bar on but a book keep's salary." Zyshio let forth the slight of a chuckle among the merriment of the rest of the bar who had just been so graciously treated so soon after being so graciously cheated.

Flynn looked to Morrigan with a chuckle "Im not one for relying on such things handsome but thank you. Such a kind offer from that silver tongue of yours. Seems to do quite the trick with the simpletons hm?" He glanced to those who had been buying then to the other seller a twinkle in his eye seeing the bag of coin. "seems quite prosperous" he remarked turning his gaze back to him, his gaze trailing up the others figure with a wink before his gaze turned back to Zyshio, hearing his words.
Flynn put a hand to his chest with mock shock and hurt "Ouch charming that is quite the blow to call me irrelevant. But sure I would love a drink if you're offering thank you" he grinned "I sail by here every so often but traveling is the main goal. Can't stay one place to long" he remarked simply, his grin never fading

Neither person seemed to buy the act, the other tiefling even going so far as to call Morrigan out on their con, which suited Morrigan just fine. They’d made enough money today- it would be a welcome change to have some more intelligent conversation. Still, they didn’t appreciate the red tiefling, who was immaculately dressed, denouncing their scam where anyone could hear.
“I’m not sure what you’re talking about.” Morrigan said with a tight-lipped smile, keeping up appearances. “But you flatter me, friend. And perhaps as the night wears on I’ll be able to change your minds. The name is Morrigan Moonweaver- enchanter and diviner. Lovely to meet you gentlemen.” They had a feeling it would be a hard sell, though. Morrigan couldn’t get a read on the elegant, white haired man who’d said little but seemed merely content to observe, but the other tiefling seemed cut from the same cloth as Morrigan themselves. More cunning than he appeared on the outside. And as for the white haired man…
Well, Morrigan had met enough mages to recognize the signs of a spellcaster when they saw one.
Whoever they were, these people were more than an ordinary bookkeeper and sailor.
The charlatan’s assessment finished, Morrigan lifted up their mug and took a long sip of their firewhiskey. “I myself am from the desert.” They answered smoothly in response to the white-haired man’s inquiry. “I’m assuming you are a Moonglade native, then? Any advice you could give this humble visitor on your fine home would be much appreciated.” They said with a fanged smile.
To the sailor, they asked, “What brings you to Moonglade this time? Trading business, perhaps…?” Their tone of voice was casual, betraying little on their true thoughts, the information the criminal was gathering about the bar’s two inhabitants.

"Oh.. my.. I apologize. I would never refer to you as irrelevant. I meant the proper term for your race was irrelevant. It was taking far too long for me to recall." He rose a white gloved hand to his mouth to cover it with the back before chuckling softly. He was a rather gentle spoken male. "I firmly believe nobody in this world is irrelevant. Though perhaps... some people just need more encouragement than others to shine." A soft sky escaped from his pale pink lips but the downturn in his mood only lasted a split moment before another swig of beer simply chased it off.
He thought about it a moment. He could be from moonglade if he wanted to. He could claim he was born and raised here. There was enough knowledge in his head to pass it off, but instead he simply shrugged. "I'm from the capital actually..." He didn't bother keeping his tone down and it did earn him nasty looks from the corners of the room, but his own eyes gently wandering and returning his own piercing gaze quietly did plenty to get them to look away. How troublesome. He had perhaps created more work for himself than what was necessary, but it couldn't be helped.
"Though, if you'd like some advice for a passerby, not a regular resident, stay out of the dark.. or in it if that's your taste.. and mind the jungle. Some of the things there can be unsightly at best.. It's a pleasure to meet you." He offered a hand to the tiefling, though notably he had taken his glove off the hand for the handshake. Truthfully, he didn't feel it was genuine to shake another's hand with a glove on. "I am Ventus." He smiled gently.

He looked to the tiefling first hearing him speak "I don't know if you can change my mind but maybe a change of heart for you handsome" he grinned at the other male. Flynn then chuckled upon hearing the others question "Aye I suppose you could say that. Mainly sail and do as I please with my crew but we get a good bit of 'trade' in at port when we so decide" he remarked keeping it simple and brief before his gaze turned to Ventus with a whistle "capital eh? Pretty fancy if I do say so myself. Lots of rich there and some fine...establishments at that" he chuckled a bit before shaking the others hand with his calloused, scarred ones "Call me Flynn" he replied

“I believe the correct term you’re looking for is tiefling, friend.” Morrigan said, laughing at the thought of accidentally being referred to as irrelevant. “Though I don’t really mind what you call me.”
The white haired man- Zyshio- quietly corrected Morrigan, claiming to be from the capital. There was hesitance in his words, not enough for Morrigan to immediately believe that Zyshio was telling a lie, but enough so that his tone of voice caught Morrigan’s interest. “The capital, you say? I’ve been there once or twice, myself. It’s a rather lovely place.”
The sailor, Flynn, seemed to perk up at the mention of the capital and its fine establishments. There was an amused note in his voice, almost as if the man were sharing an inside joke with himself. Morrigan could not help but wonder if it was a different kind of trade that Flynn engaged in… the more one-sided sort.
Morrigan propped their chin against their hand, resting casually on the bar with a knowing smirk on their lips. Liars and thieves… it seemed Morrigan would fit right in here.
Handshakes were exchanged all around- Morrigan’s own hands were adorned in a plethora of silvered rings rather than callouses and gloves, the jewelry constantly clicking with each of their minute movements. “Your advice is noted, and much appreciated. It would be more trouble than it’s worth to run into something unsavory.”
An idea occurred to them as they exchanged greetings and pleasantries, their tail flicking behind them in interest as they spoke. “You both seem like well-traveled fellows- how about you each share a story with me? One from the capital, and one from your travels.” Morrigan asked, barely able to contain their excitement. As had been proven time and time again, if there was one thing they loved more than coin, it was the prospect of an interesting person with a tale to tell. “Of course, I will share one in turn.”

Once he had shaken each of their hands, he placed the glove back on and then returned to sipping his ale and listening. "Flynn and.. Morrigan. I will make it a point to remember the two of you. It certainly is a pleasure." This time, he waved the bartender over and ordered a dessert. He ended up being brought a piece of some sort of pie. He took a bite, decided it was good enough, and with that ate it rather quickly.
"Yes the capital can be... a pain at best sometimes." He sighed gently reflecting on why he had even traveled back here in the first place. This was where they were living currently, but for how long one couldn't say for sure. He, his wife, and child. He would give his child the necessary time for him to learn, or perhaps return to the capital on his own if necessary. He gently tapped his finger in thought on the bar when he heard the inquiry for a story.
"Tales? Hmm. I haven't done anything particularly amazing myself, but how about I tell you a story from the capital itself? Do you know of the mage's guild? Rumor has it they're trying to discover information about a place that seems to wander however it pleases and at times may even choose not to exist. It's name is kept a bit under wraps, but supposedly it functions as some sort of store front. I hear they're looking into why it exists and what it's real purpose in this world is. I know it's vague, but the idea of such a thing to me is absolutely fascinating, wouldn't you agree? Why would a place decide not to exist?"

Flynn's gaze lingered on the quantity of jewlery adorning the others hands before shaking hands with him, sneaking a ring with it along the way to see if the other noticed as his smile remained as charming as ever. "A tale hm? Well there are many it just depends on the type one would be wanting to hear; far off lands, handsome men, beautiful women, treasures and of course fighting off beasts, most notably a kraken was quite the fight. Almost took the ship down with it. My but if ya ever hear a siren or see a mermaid~ some real lookers there I can tell ya" He chuckled some as he recalled a few memories. "But a tale I can certainly give for such handsome company" he grinned softly at the two as he finished his drink and ordered another
