Shaa was sad to see Zarius go but he understood. This trip was supposed to be about tradition, relaxation…maybe a muffin. It just didn’t work out that way. It never worked out that way for him. There was always some bandit or vampire or swamp creature that was lurking around to jack up his day. Shaa wondered to himself if he would be forever cursed to have chaos follow him wherever he went. Even out here, in the middle of nowhere, the fight always seemed to find him. Shaa rubbed the owl bear bite on his arm thoughtfully.
Shaa couldn’t help but feel that some of it was his own fault. He had always liked to think they he kept his head down, stayed under notice. But if he really looked at it hard, when was he ever really blending in anywhere? He was always the sore thumb. It was about time he just accepted that he was not destined to fade gently away but would eventually get taken out, suddenly, violently.
Shaa looked over at Gerhart and wondered if he was doing him a disservice in encouraging this life. He was so young and how many close calls had he already had. Shaa had even heard him tell a story about fighting off a giant ooze with a Gnoll and an undead chicken of all things. No, there was no turning back now. The only thing to do was to move forward and plow right through anyone or anything that got in his way. Destiny or fate or chaos or whatever could go screw itself.
Shaa hopped on Skippy’s back and was ready to roll out. Come on Gerhart. We are delivering a message if it kills somebody.
