Blue Raspberry takes the box and looks down at it. They didn't know what to expect from it. They open it up to find out what it contains. As they open it, they hear a small click and a tiny dart shoots out from it, clinking harmlessly off of their cuirass. The box had been set with a trap, but the ooze hardly noticed.
Completely ignoring the trap that likely would have killed someone else opening the box, they opened it up to find it had a small compass in it. They picked up the compass and examined it. The face of the compass was black with an orange circle around the edge, making it resemble a solar eclipse. The needle looked like a flame with a point. Strangely, there were no directions on the compass. It didn't show North, East, South, or West. It simply pointed in some direction. Around the outer edges of the compass were the same letters that were on the stone tablet in the other room.
Wow, this thing is useless. I should just eat it. Blue Raspberry thought to themself, but three voices shouted in the back of their head at the same time. No, it isn't you idiot! Don't eat it! It must be pointing to the Sol Stone!
Oh, I guess that makes sense. I'll keep it then. They heard three sighs of relief in their mind.
Blue Raspberry looked at Edward and gave a small bow and a salute. "Thank you for your help. This compass seems to point somewhere important. I will follow it. Will you follow it, also?"
“Well, you can keep the compass. I was trying to find the sol stone, not this. But we can try to follow where the compass leads to. It has to lead to something related to the sol stone.” Edward responded.
The two left the temple and headed back out of the forest. Blue Raspberry dropped the compass into the opening in their armor, but the compass wasn't dissolved like most things they dropped in there. Instead, it simply floated inside the ooze, guiding it toward whatever it pointed toward.
