Suddenly Gustave disappeared back into his stone rook piece form making Javal stumble a bit since gustave was the main thing that was keeping him standing. This situation was pretty bad Javal was barely able to stand up holding his katana ready to fight he felt the presence of Heian next to him. Both of them were pretty banged up with the owlbear now spotting them and looking ready to continue their fight. Beist was helping them by hitting the owlbear on its blindspot. Javal charges once more as he runs to the bear's blindside and raises his katana upwards and then puts all of his weight into the downward slash onto the beast's arm. With that he sees the blood spurt out from the now missing stub of where the bears right arm used to be. The short lived victory was quickly washed by the owlbear grabbing Javal and throwing him back. Javal is barely able to get up as he sees the owlbear make its way towards him. 

As Javal distracted the owlbear, Heian sneaked closer and seeing the beast getting ready to throw the demon for the third time he hit its leg, with enough force for the sword to grind on the bone. The bear squawked and bent onto its knee.

With no one around, Heian could release a death wave, knocking the beast down and freeing his sword from the wound. Then the sword got up and, with Heian's all force, dropped down onto the back of the owlbear.

And it somehow got back up.

It lurched and hit Heian with an awkward claw slash. But it was enough to send Heian flying, much like Javal before. But it lurched. The fight would soon be over, one way or another. Judging by their state, it was now Beist versus owlbear.

He hit the tree again and tried to get up. Tried. He couldn't get up.

With both of his allies down, Beist was the only one left who could deal with the owlbear. At least it was already heavily injured, so this fight should be possible for the beast man. He just hoped he wouldn't be in the same state as the others when this fight was over. Who could possibly carry him to town to get help?

The owlbear stumbled as it tried to turn toward its final opponent, its missing leg proving to be quite the hindrance to its mobility. It was losing blood from the stump quickly as well. Even without striking it, Beist could probably win just by avoiding being struck himself until it bled out. It was a sad way for any creature to die. He could at least try to make it quicker.

He swung his walking stick down hard onto the owlbear's back and heard the sound of its spine cracking from the impact. Its back legs trembled and collapsed beneath it. It tried to pick itself up with its remaining front paw, but it was growing weaker by the second from the blood loss. Beist took mercy on it and aimed his walking stick for its head while it was unable to move. After another loud cracking sound, it collapsed to the ground, dead.

Beist was relieved that the battle was over, but he also felt a bit sad. He didn't want to have to kill such a creature, but it needed to be stopped. It was far too aggressive to be left alive and terrorizing this road. He just wished it could have been done a bit less painfully, both for him and his allies, as well as the beast itself.

He looked to his two collapsed allies for a moment.

"I'll be right back. We need to get you both some help in town." he said before heading to the wagon and telling its occupants that the owlbear was dead.

They came out, the driver now awakened, and followed Beist as he picked up Javal and Heian and carried them back to town over his shoulders. He wanted to take some samples from the fallen owlbear and study it, but his companions needed help as soon as possible. He could come back later.
