Javal had arrived to Moonveil Village with a mission after helping out some merchants transport some goods through the Shadewood Forest. On their way through the merchants told him about how an Owlbear was terrorizing the usually terrifying forest and has killed and devastated other merchants traveling through Shadewood, which is why they asked Javal for help in the first place. The were about 50 feet from Moonveil before Javal saw it a huge Owlbear was walking around the area and then looked directly at him. He barely managed to dodge a swipe at him as the caravan speed off behind him making it to the village Javal was relieved they were able to make but also excited to face such a powerful beast. The bear was standing up facing him and Javal quickly realized that alone he was not even close to being able to battle against such a beast. So he pointed at the beast and volley of snow began circling it distracting it from Javal giving him enough time to sprint towards the village. He ran towards the village's tavern huffing and puffing hard. "Please, can anyone here please help me defeat the Owlbear to end is reign of terror over the forest and traveling merchants".

The mead hier was getting better every time Heian visited Moonglade. Or just Heian more addicted to it.
"Drink. Drink. Driiink!" Rather the second option. With a roommate constantly demanding alcohol it's a miracle he still walks this land.
Beist was sitting next to him, he needed two chairs to hold his mass. They just got back from hunting Cerber and Wood could convince him into drinking again.

Suddenly a guy busted in into tavern and asked for help with an owlbear. Heian couldn't help but laugh.
-You sound like if you were an actor playing a part. But I like your style, you can count on me. Beist want to watch some owl bears? 

Beist was very interested in observing an owlbear. They were quite rare and an unusual combination of beasts. However, he had heard they were extremely dangerous because of their strength and high aggression. Still though, this may be a rare opportunity.

He placed his notebook he had been writing in with notes about Cerber into his pocket. It was a good thing he wasn't a big drinker, especially compared to Heian. He had only been sipping a single cup during their time here, so he wasn't very intoxicated. He'd rather have his wits about him if he was going to be dealing with such a dangerous creature. He looked at the out of breath Tiefling man.

"Yes, I would very much like to see this owlbear, though I hope you don't mind my lack of fighting skill. My potions may prove helpful." he said with a slightly nervous smile.

Javal was overjoyed he was able to find such fun induvial to help him to defeat the wicked owlbear. He first sat down and drank some water to catch his breath. He then got up on a table and spoke, "Thank you kind fellows for helping me now let's take this beast down". He and his new pals walked out of the tavern and bumped into the merchants from 20 minutes ago, they immediately apologized for leaving him with the beast but Javal bowed his head as low as he could and said, "No, the apologies are mine" and with that both parties bid each other farewell. Javal and the party had now made it to Shadewood with no Owlbear in sight that was until the party heard a giant roar and the sounds of people screaming not far off.

Hearing the roar Heian instantly put himself into preparations.
-First thing: teamwork. We need to cover each other. Second thing: we aim for the legs first. When it cannot move, arms and eyes become an easier and safer target. How you two can help? From my side I can provide crossbow fire and a small bunch of spells
-And good old school sword
-Also, demon, I don't think you introduced yourself? My name is Heian and the voice you heard before is Wood
The beast roared again. First screams could be heard.
-We will discuss on the go. Now hurry

The group followed the sounds of the roars and screams until they could see the owlbear. It seemed to have given chase to the merchants that had escaped it earlier, emerging from the forest and onto the road. It was now terrorizing another passing wagon that was far too underequipped to defend itself from the fearsome beast and was trying to simply outrun it.

The horses at the front of the wagon were in a panic, galloping in terror with the owlbear close behind the wagon. The driver was trying to get them back under control and running more smoothly to escape, but they were having no luck. The wagon veered off of the road and into the grass, falling onto its side. The horses broke free of their harnesses and ran off, leaving the wagon behind as the owlbear charged at it.

Beist was concerned for the passengers and the driver who had been flung from their seat into the grass.

"Ah, you two fight the owlbear. I'll see if anyone is injured and assist them." he said to the other two as they ran toward the fallen wagon and the owlbear.

Javal heard all the orders his new friends gave him and he was ready for battle. He yells at Myrra his ghastly lantern to get the owlbear's attention off of the poor merchants and on him. The ghastly lantern then dropped to the floor opened up and then purple fire then came out and shaped into a woman but of purple fire. The flame figure then shot at the owlbear punching it in the face and immediately shot back into the lantern which shot back about 20 feet from the party into a bush, it did no damage but it got the job done. Mission accomplished the owlbear is angry and Javal has its full attention, now for Javal's turn, Javal then grabs a stone chess piece from his pants pocket. He shakes the piece then Gustave the Gargoyle has appeared onto the field. He tells Heian and Wood to provide ranged attacks him and gustave will handle close combat. Javal breaths stretches then unsheathes his katana and gets into a stance. Gustave does the same but readies his fists. The owlbear charges at both of them targets in sight. Javal and Gustave do the same charging at the owlbear. Both parties began to clash. 

The owlbear was quite small, at least compared to Kevin. 17 feet in height was however still enough meat to cause troubles. At least this one had no sorcerer behind that could heal him, but this time the party was smaller, making the fight just as difficult as the last owlbear.
"But this time you do ranged job and have better tools. Just you try to complain"
Heian silently prepared his crossbow. While quicker than in most crossbows, he had to load three bolts instead of one, making the process three times longer. There had to be a way to workaround that but thats a bother for another day.

Before the demon with his statues were in owlbear's range, first bolt hit its head. The beast stopped and looked around, giving Heian a really short while of stagnancy between continuing the movement and dropping the scouting. Another two bolts flew towards face, however half second too late. 

The beast spotted him and charged.

While the two were fighting the owlbear, Beist ran over to the wagon. He checked on the driver that had been thrown off, They had been lucky enough to land in the grass, breaking their fall somewhat, but they were still quite dazed. They didn't seem to be in any immediate danger though, so he picked them up and went to check the wagon's occupants. He pulled open the wagon door and heard a scream from inside.

Inside the wagon, he saw a man and a young girl cowering as far from the door as possible. They looked like a father and daughter. They were both clearly terrified of him, probably thinking he was the monster that was chasing them.

"My apologies for startling you. I mean no harm. I'm here to help. Are either of you injured?" he said slowly, trying to calm the two down.

They looked at each other in confusion. The beast that had ripped open their door was now not only speaking, but offering assistance. "We're a bit tossed around, but otherwise fine." the man said, holding his daughter in his arms.

Beist nodded and put the driver inside the wagon with the others. "He is also fine, but pretty dazed from his fall. Please watch him while my friends and I see to the owlbear that was chasing you." he said, closing the door again and turning to face the owlbear that was charging at Heian.

Javal and Gustave are currently engaging against the wicked fiend owlbear with ranged support from Heian and Wood. However the Bear got very irritated by Heian firing his crossbow at him and is now focusing their attention on him and charging at them. Javal is sprinting behind it trying to catch up before its too late. Javal yells, "Hey Mr. Bear it is rude to forgot who you are facing and throws a rock at him. The bear ignores him and soon Heian and Wood got grabbed and thrown into a tree. Javal runs past the bear and to his friend guarding him with gustave. Javal then says, "HeianWood think of something to take this guy out me and gustave will run interference and keep him busy for as long as we can" Javal and Gustave are now charging at the wicked owlbear. Javal and Gustave's teamwork is really good every slash and dodge Javal does Gustave does the Opposite motions. They're currently being put on the defensive now their split-second of attack is over they both now they are dealing with a true monster here they can't afford to get hit. The Owlbears speed and strength are far superior to both of them, and its starting to push the pair back. The owlbear then catches Javal by his foot grabs him and then slams him into the ground. Gustave then grabs it from behind to get its attention. Javal is in so much pain but he gets quickly returns to a stance, "Owlbear don't think you've won yet".

When he hit the tree, Heian could feel a couple bones breaking. Again. Like he was immune to any other damage, there was always a bone smashed somewhere. He would really use a "notch" right now.

Somehow he still had a crossbow in hand and both hands relatively useful. He took out his glowy red coat and lied in the grass, with a crossbow already loaded.

When the owlbear got grabbed by the gargoyle, Heian unleashed all three bolts. One of them hit the eye, releasing a deafening roar.The beast ignored shouting demon and tried to find Heian. With little result, no more bolts arrived and a red coat no longer showed his position.

Which changed while the beast searched. With every move causing intense pain in his chest, Heian moved around 10 meters to the side and released another salvo, this time without luck however. But he was still relatively invisible.

Beist ran over to the injured Javal on the ground and helped him to his feet. He took one of his potions from a pouch on his waist and handed it to the Tiefling.

"Drink this, it will help heal your wounds." he said as they took the bottle. He also wanted to give one to Heian, but it would have to wait. He didn't know where they were hidden and also didn't know if they might need another later in case anyone received more wounds.

He looked at the owlbear again. The beast had lost track of Heian, but was clearly furious at them for shooting it in the eye. It was searching for them, ignoring Beist and Javal. They had cuts all over their body from their fight with Gustave and Javal, probably bruises as well under all the fur. They were clearly injured, but not nearly enough to be defeated. This was going to be a difficult fight. This was too much for the two to handle. Beist would need to assist, even if he wasn't a great warrior.

He began to walk toward the owlbear that was still looking the other way, searching through bushes for Heian. Once he got close enough, he swung his walking stick at the beast's leg with a loud thud. The smell of burnt fur filled his nostrils as he left a burn on the leg thanks to the enchantments on the walking stick.

The owlbear let out an angry cry of pain and tried to glare at Beist over its shoulder, but he was on the side with the blinded eye. It started turning to find who had just truck it, Beist moving to try and stay on its blind side and out of sight.

Javal is in pretty bad condition right now he tries to charge at the angry bear but it isn’t paying attention to him, Gustave is also pretty badly injured. Beist runs over to Javal who fells like he’s about to pass out on his feet and gives him a potion. Javal chugs it down and he feels instantly better than before, He says, “Alright foul beast, me and you it’s time for round two”. Beist then hits the bear with his cool flaming stick and Javal is completely amazed Beist is really strong. Bear charges again at the group and Gustave manages to catch into a headlock and Javal is able to slash at the bear at his leg. The beast howls with pain and grabs Gustave and throws him into a tree, Javal is enraged and charges at the bear with his katana for revenge for his friend. Gustave is resting against the try trying to catch his breath. Javal is facing against the bear again while Heian is firing off bolts at the beast. The bear charges at Javal and Javal lands a slash on its arm but he gets caught by the face by the bear and is slammed into a another tree and is grabbed and slammed again into the ground. Heian finally gets the bears attention again and Javal is laying down bloody he starts to slowly get up he has a giant headache and begins to cough up a lot of blood. An injured Gustave helps him up and supports him they are both standing up now.

The beast focused on him again, probably for demon's good. Heian could barely move after just one slam. Beist kept moving with the blind spot of owlbear, ready to act if any of other two gets in danger. A rather unavoidable situation.

Heian picked up a nearby pebble and threw it close enough for the beast to hear, but far from all three of them. When the bear carefully followed the sound, still wary after being half blinded, Heian sneaked to Beist. Further shooting would only make their opponent more angry, with marginal chances to take out another eye.

-You got some cure for broken bones? - Heian smiled. He could feel saliva, or blood, pour from between his teeth. Blood taste was no longer distinguishable for him.

After swallowing the liquid he could feel the pain fade. But the bones didn't want to get their place, he had to manually settle them, which actually made the potion more trustworthy in his eyes than other healing methods he experienced hier before.

-Any chance of getting more of those for later use?

Heian couldn't hear the response. The owlbear spotted them and there was no place for crossbow anymore.

He pulled out his longsword, ready to support Javal, still rather unsteady.

Beist was concerned. The other two had suffered very severe injuries and he was unable to help them very much. He only had two minor health potions. They weren't strong enough to cure something this serious and even if they were, he was completely out already.

"I'm afraid not, but once this is over we can hopefully get you both some help in the village." he replied to Heian.

He continued to strike at the owlbear with his walking stick, leaving burns and bruises across its hide. He tried to stay on its blind side, but the beast managed to lash out at him a few times. Perhaps he would also need some help in the village once this was over. At least the people in the wagon were relatively fine for now.
