Hylltywyll watched as the small, winged person flew over the fence. He snuck through the hole and looked to see them leaning against it nearby, their eyes closed and a look of relief on their face. Now that he was so close, he could finally get a good look at them. They looked like a small Human, about the same height as him. They had blue butterfly wings with red details, blue and purple hair, and pointy ears.

Hylltywyll crept in front of them, moving slowly, still aching from the fall. Grimacing slightly from the pain and with a hint of anger in his eyes toward the one who had caused that pain, he stood face to face with the stranger and waited for them to open their eyes.

When Elrodan opened his eyes, it was too quite a shock. "MEEP!" he exclaimed as he stared into the large black eyes, focusing on the small blue pupils. Besides the singular exclamation he made no other noise, hardly managing the breathe. As his eyes started to move about the creature before him, he started to realise that it was the other that had been in the tree.

Even up close and able to see all of the detail, from the dog like nose, through the exceptionally fluffy looking fur, down to the bird like legs and feet, Elrodan still couldn't place what the creature was. "Who are you? What are you? What do you want? Why are you standing there like that?" he managed to say after his brain had sufficiently decided to abandon its attempted deciphering.

He shuffled slightly to his right trying to give himself more space. 

"Hmm... You made me fall! That hurt, you know!" Hylltywyll stated, ignoring their rapid stream of questions, as he pointed a finger at the person in front of him.

He noticed them shuffling to the side to try and escape from him, so he moved to the side himself, keeping the stranger trapped between him and the fence.

"Who're you? Hmph! Why're you following me?" He stated, slightly angry. He flinched slightly from the pain in his back as he took another step and glared at them.

It really shouldn't have surprised Elrodan that the creature could speak, especially given that he'd just asked it things. The response also caught him off guard. Leaving him to gibber his own reply "Sorry! But how, I... Wait! If you're hurt, I can help with that. Where are you hurt? I'm not following you, I was hungry whilst on the look out for other fairies. I'd heard they were about and even... Even that man said about them. But... But... I mean... Err.. My name is Elrodan."

It was far from a perfect performance but what else could he do. He took one more pace to his right which was copied, then tried going back to the left.

Continuing to mirror Elrodan's movement, keeping them between him and the fence, Hylltywyll raised an eyebrow.

"Hmm... My back hurts" He said as he slowly turned to show the bruise forming on his back, keeping an eye on Elrodan over his shoulder and ready to move if they did anything suspicious. "Can you really help?"

Hylltywyll watched Elrodan, thinking about everything they'd said. If they weren't following him, why did they keep showing up near him? What did they mean other fairies? He was the only fairy he knew about, and Elrodan looked nothing like him. Except maybe the height... Maybe if he actually helped with his aching back, he'd try answering some of their questions.

Elrodan looked at the bruising. It didn't seem all that bad, but he knew the elves would moan all day about a sore back so he drew on his essence to bring forth a green light in his hands. "Of course I can help, this is a minor thing. Stay still then...". With a gentle caress, he moved a hand down the length of the bruising the other leading ahead without touching, sensing the extent of the damage.

Pulling back his hands he gave a triumphant smile and a nod. Then cocked his head to one side and looked at Hylltywyll's hip and leg. "Oh one moment..." then repeating the process, he again applied his healing green light on the hip and knee. "There! All done. Feeling better now?" he says standing back up with a hopeful look upon his face.

Tensing up at the touch, HYlltywyll watched and felt as Elrodan moved his hands across his body, the pain disappearing as they went. He relaxed, feeling much better.

"There! All done. Feeling better now?" Elrodan said, standing back up and looking at Hylltywyll hopefully.

"Hmm..." Hylltywyll nodded, still watching them suspiciously, but noticeably less hostile. He took a step back, giving Elrodan a little more room. "My name is Hylltywyll. I'm the only Fairy around here" he stated plainly.

Elrodan was glad for the extra space, "Nice to meet you Hyllty wyllylyy... Hyt.. Hyll. Who told you your a fairy? Your nothing like me. Besides, you're not the only one here, if you were one because I'm here! So yes, there is only one fairy here. Me. Though I do want to find the other people have been taking about in this village.".

He examines Hylltywyll, confirming the lack of winds and the features that were most certainly not like his own. "Are you really a fairy? Really really? How do you fly? Do you ever catch yourself on your own claws? What about your fur, do you get hot in summer?" his normal barrage of questions well under way.

HYlltywyll stood there, slightly stunned by the sudden barrage of accusations and questions for a moment before getting offended and a bit angry at Elrodan's accusations of him not being a Fairy. He let out a slight snarl in frustration before letting loose his own barrage.

"I am a Fairy! You're not a Fairy! You're nothing like me!" he said, a bit of anger in his voice, poking a finger at Elrodan. "Those old people were talking about me. You look like a tiny one of them with wings, not a Fairy. You suck at being sneaky and stealing things. You'd still be stuck in that tree if I hadn't drawn the old man away! Where's your fur? Where are your claws?"

Baffled by the protestations, Elrodan wore a look of confusion on his face. "The farmers were calling you a fairy... Truly? I wonder how we can be so different but yet the same. Besides. I can sneak when I want to, and I'd have got out of the tree perfectly easily... Though that distraction did help. I don't think I would want to have fur, or claws or little birdy legs. I most certainly would still want my wings." and with that he jumped into the air and fluttered his wings until he was able to sit on the fence looking down at Hylltywyll.

"Are there any more like you? You must have a family right? Or friends?" he asks as he looks with continued enquiring eyes upon the others form. His hands by his side helping his sit stably on the fence while his legs wiggled around. 

Hylltywyll watched, annoyed, as Elrodan fluttered up onto the fence and sat down. He felt incredibly insulted, the supposed Fairy mocking his fur, his claws, and his bird-like legs. They were even rubbing their wings in his face! He felt them looking down on him, both literally and figuratively. His anger was starting to reach a boiling point.

"Don't know. Don't care. If there are more Fairies, they're not here. And I do have friends! They just don't live around here!" Hylltywyll practically shouted, stomping a foot on the ground.

He suddenly had an idea. His anger subsided slightly as he got a mischievous smile. He raised a finger behind his back, swirling it in the air slightly before a terribly loud sound of bird screeching came from directly behind Elrodan.

Minor Trickery

Elrodan jumps off the fence rather startled by the sudden noise, flying away from fence and looking back. When no apparent threat appeared he returned his attention back to Hylltywyll.

"You don't care if there's other fairies about? Is it because there's not, that you're so angry?" Elrodan asked before thinking through other options. Maybe he was lying, maybe he was kicked out, maybe this was a disguise, though he doubted each. His own frustration and confusion causing his face to scrunch up. 

Hylltywyll laughed at Elrodan's reaction to his little prank, but his good mood was quickly soured again as Elrodan continued their stream of annoying questions.

"Why should I care? What do I need other Fairies for? Oh, and you should probably hide." He said as he turned and ran along the fence toward some more trees and bushes. He looked back at Elrodan with another mischievous smile before disappearing into the shadows beneath them.

Suddenly, the door of the house leading to the little meditation garden opened again. "What the hell is going on today?! First some glass breaking, can't find what it was, now some damn giant bird!" the old man shouted as he came out of the door, a broom in his hands.

Elrodan continued to be astounded at someone not wanting company about. As they moved away he gave a thought of following, but instead moved to the fence and peeked over the top at the man. The broom in their hands puzzled him. The grounds didn't look like there was anything that needed sweeping.

The man certainly seemed angrier than when he'd found the corn husk remains. He watches them and thinks through the words the pair had shared. Could there be more fairies? Would they be like this one? Were the mushrooms responsible somehow?

The old man looked around for the source of the loud screeching, but couldn't immediately find one. He looked toward the sky for any sign of the bird flying away, again unable to see anything. He gave up, about to go back inside and close the door. He had lost his desire to meditate today, too angry and annoyed by all of today's occurances.

However, he spotted something strange. A tiny face peering at him from over the fence. "Another one!" he yelled as he charged toward them, lifting the broom into the air to swing it down at the new Fairy that would bring more trouble to the village.
