History:
Early Life
This fellow known as Torrin was once known as Kathal, a draconynh / firbolg hybrid born into a band of mountain bandits who terrorized innocent passersby in Frost Gale. He was raised into a life of crime by his draconynh father Kathen and firbolg mother Tordi Evenmight who lead their brothers into being a well-known and fearsome band of criminals. Torrin though was never interested in learning the family trade much preferring to look at the ice or starry night feeling a true sense of beauty he wanted to pursue. Such notions were ridiculed by his rough family who pushed Kathal to toughening up. One day as the mountain bandit group robbed a caravan of noblemen, Kathal spotted something interesting that caught his attention in the hands of one of the nobles. A strange wooden device with holes in it, after his family ravaged the nobleman's carriages he sneakily took the device and placed it into his satchel. At night when all his family was asleep in their hideout the young draconynh snuck away towards an isolated spot and inspected the device. At first, he was lost and confused as to the point of such a tool but it wasn't until he placed his mouth to it in an attempt to eat it that he discovered what would change his life forever. That strange sound perked the boy's ears and he spent the whole night experimenting and exploring the flute losing track of time. His family would discover him and rip the flute from his hands, breaking it and throwing it away, scolding Kathal for wasting his time with a silly useless contraption. This wouldn't stop Kathal though and as he was growing up he would continue to further his musical ability making makeshift instruments during his family's stick-ups and robberies. Although his parents would break them the draconynh continued his efforts showing fruit as his ability kept growing and growing. However, his seemingly normal life would come to an end one day when the Knights of Duros raided his family and imprisoned them in the Tempest's Reach. Feeling as if he didn't deserve to spend the rest of his young life in an inescapable prison Kathal snuck away and eventually just ran and ran until he was far enough away to rest.
Sea Shanty Life
Deciding that he was going to put his past behind him mostly in fear of it ruining his life and branding him as a criminal if he ever got famous for his art he changed his name to Torrin Norixus in part inspired by King Tarvian hoping he could be half as brave and well regarded he was. So for the next couple of months, the Draconynh traveled bar to bar, tavern to tavern just trying to gain experience playing for people. At first, he just sang his heart out, singing out the troubles of leaving an old life and how the world was so exciting. After a while he was going nowhere, eventually, the whole eager-eyed draconynh kid singer thing bored people. So he was left at a crossroads for what to do. It was during one of his performances that someone in the back caught his attention among a mild crowd of boredom and disinterest. There was a single person who seemed enraptured by his song. A raggedy pirate-looking follower who was the only one to clap for him. After the performance, he rushed to find him and followed him towards his ship where he was given an opportunity. Captain Wilford Wyther liked his music and when Torrin told him he didn't even have an instrument or any training the captain just laughed and asked him a single question, "Would you like to?", to which the answer was an immediate "yes". Quickly the pirate captain told Torrin that if he wanted to he could join his pirate crew where he'd find an instrument and the crewmates would teach him some things. Torrin was excited at the thought and said yes thinking about all the sea shanties he could write if he joined a pirate crew. And so for years, Torrin sailed under the Black Dragon Pirates's flag having found a new family who supported his dreams and had his back. He even rose the ranks becoming one of Wilford's vice-commanders, "The Dragon Prince of Passion".
Present Tune
One day Wilford suddenly dropped all his apprentice pirates on Thorock with an urgent tone giving them the final order to live happy and prosperous lives. Torrin was outraged and beckoned his sworn brethren to give chase stating how they couldn't leave the man who raised them just like that. Unfortunately, after a few scuffles between the group, the consensus was made they would all respect the captain's final orders. And with that, Torrin left Thorock remembering his captain and placing his sadness and emotions into his music. Now he has set out on a journey to not just show the world his talents and musical awesomeness but to live his life to the fullest and have wild and crazy experiences.
