Nobine
Gender: Female; She/Her
Age: 60
Race: Faeborne
Nationality: Crescent Isles
Appearance: Her face is innocent, seeming, and round with youth, often with a large grin. Her mouth stretches just a little wider than humans, enough to add a slight unease the more you look, and inside, there are multiple sharp needles for teeth. Inside her mouth from being a baby are relatively more minor spinnerets underneath her tongue. A face that looks much like a humanoid, yet the eyes are large and all black. The ears are long, thin, and decorated with thin chains and small colourful stones. The outer layer of hair brushes her shoulder, and the underlayer ends around her hip. It is a dark black colour, though shimmers in the sunlight in various colours. The longer strands are put in thick braids. Her hair is parted in the middle, letting the three small moss-green circles act as simple eyes, with a few strands left down to frame her face. Peaking up from her hair are two thick, fuzzy antennas.
Mostly humanoid stature, she is thin and slim, not quite human proportions, and around 4"10’. Soft-looking black fuzz/scales cover her forearm, fingers, shins, and feet; the rest is smooth olive skin. Bursting from her back are four wings. The top wings and bottom wings are separated and can work independently of each other for the best flight ability. Each is made out of chitin with a complex network of veins throughout with an oval-like structure following dragonfly wings. They give off a glossy look and are coloured a pale green with crisscrossing veins golden.
She dons a high vertical collar cream sleeveless blouse tucked into a darker green loose fit pants cuffed at the ankles. On top is a large, loose-fitted linen jacket that fall to her shins. The collar is the same colour as her wings, and the vest has woven buttons made of willow and shaped as willow leaves down the middle. The pants have golden embroidered geometric designs towards the bottom.
Personality: To others, she has a more impulsive and mischievous attitude that follows her whims. She seeks out fun things and often stops tasks and creative ventures when something more interesting appears. Believes in at least trying pretty much anything once and that freedom is a top priority. Sometimes, will overlook wrongdoings because of this. Enjoys all good fights for entertainment and swimming. Doesn't mind helping people but will be miffed and peeved if the person doesn't offer anything in response. Minor, harmless pranks are funny, and so is redirecting authority. Enjoys collecting many things, from the cute to the odd, and enjoys working with creatures. Loves sweet and sour foods and anything pungent, whether good or bad. From her youth, is still a voracious hunger, though it has evolved beyond simply food. Believes that something is better when you work for it; scamming or “borrowing” it is also considered hard work.
History: She has been exploring Moonglade and Crescent Isles since she was young, all without a true name. Her soul was yearning for something, so slowly, she tried to quench the thirst. During this time, she was constantly eating and might have destroyed some people's gardens…and eaten some flowers in stores before running. Eventually, she made her way to the sands of one of the smaller isles, looking across the horizon, still feeling lost. Looking into rice fields, she decided to play in the water and eat juicy pests; in return for doing the random strangers good occasionally, she'll have some rice plants. Soon, she was caught by a couple of farmers, curled beneath the shade. After following an old couple of Nekizuko, she ate their pests, and they took her in. She stayed with them, helping around, and in return, she learned how to turn the small silk she made into small tapestries.
Finally, after time has passed (she assumes some months, but for some reason, their fur is greying), her eyelids feel heavy, and her body is slow. She sleeps one day, and her body has finished growing as the sun crests over the rice paddies. By the time she comes too, they've disappeared. For once, she counts the days that pass, and she’s watched the seasons pass before finally moving on from the village.
She uses a fake name when she meets other people in the villages along the coast and the forest she explores because being polite is good, and a tugging feeling happens in her soul when people give their names. It’s not good enough, and she leaves them their names and selves. Recently, she’s come into possession of a trained bird, or well, it was an injured baby, and since the couple seemed happier when nurturing things, she’ll try. It is a small, fat, and dazed-looking yellow-bodied warbler named Duqing. His tiny grey wings can carry him far, though he would rather sit as a bright yellow ball of her shoulder and chatter away.
