To say Sarne was not stunned to see what just happened would be a lie. Something inside of him cringed at the sight of Sylvari tearing into the Spawn's head. If was not for Sarne knowing Sylvari. He would have attacked her and tried to slay her right there. It was impressive what damage she was inflicting on the Spawn. Sarne still shocking every time she took another bite of the Spawn. Blood was running out of the gaping wounds of the Spawn as it shrieked out in pain and horror at what was happening. With in moments the shrieks stopped. The only noise now was Sylvari ripping into the Spawn. The crunching sound of every bite. Still made Sarne a seasoned adventure made his skin crawl. The sunlight started to show through the trees now as the darkness of the forest lifted some birds could be heard in the distance as life seemed to come back to the forest. Sarne sheathed his sword and strapped his shield onto his back as Sylvari was doing well what vampires do. [1] Sarne leaned against the tree and started to mend his armor as light washed over it. Sarne would help Sylvari repair her armor when she was done. [2] his body started to have a gold hue as it was healing as well. Sarne wished he could do more for Sylvari but probably letting her tear apart the Spawn was the right thing to do. The sun was up and it was time to go back and let people know it was safe now to travel.

The Spawn's blood was thickly viscous and vile. Even if Sylvari was of a vampiric heritage that relied on lifeblood alone to sustain herself, she very much doubted she could stomach this filth. Receding her claws and fangs once the creature was finally an unmoving corpse, Sylvari spat out what blood she could and washed out the remainder with a swig of her water skin, shuddering in disgust as some inevitably trickled down her throat. She noted Sarne's look of alarm at her sudden brutality and took extra time to wash the remaining viscera from her face and smooth out her hair before turning to him with a placating smile, not advancing on her friend.
"Sorry to show that side of me, dear. I was in quite a state after they hurt you. Unfortunately, my curse bids me exercise this energy in small bursts to prevent fugue episodes of regret later on from bottling them in. Speaking of your injuries, were you able to recover on your own? I noticed that you have been touched by the heavens even as I have, but I know that those on high give varied blessings. If any part of you is still hurting, I would be happy to ply my gifts to aid you. After all, you've saved me no small amount of hurt yourself."
The vampiress moved slowly and methodically, to allay and lingering worries in her friend's mind, as she stooped to retrieve her fallen warhammer and discarded shield, the metal bent badly out of shape.

The underbrush, fallen trees, logs, branches, twigs, and fallen leaves all looked like a stampede of horses and gone through there. The earthy smell was replaced with blood and rotting wood The wood smoking from Sarne's light attack was still smoldering. The place looked like a war had been fought there where Sarne and Sylvar were standing. It was becoming deathly quiet now with the combat over.
Sarne did not move at first as he looked cautious at Sylvar's approach. He looked her over Sylvar looked calm now and the rage looked to be gone. "I feel sorry you had to go through that on my behalf." He paused Sarne looked to be searching for words. "Does that happen often to you? I never want to be the reason you have to go to such extremes," said Sarne with a slight smile.
Sarne walked to her meeting her next to her shield. "My injuries are held for the most part. Just a little stiff," replied Sarne looking around, "I can fix your shield and armor if you would like," offered Sarne looking it over. "It will take a bit of time." [1] When Sarne was given the ok he washed the light over Sylvar's shield after a few pops, creaks, and bending noises as it straightened. The shield looked like new.
[1] Sarne ran his hand lightly over Sylvar's armor He stayed away from let us say any sensitive places being as much of a gentleman as he could but still getting the job done. with the same effect and noises as his hands and light moved. The armor shined once again looking like new Sarne stepped back and looked her over "Now that looks beautiful," remarked Sarne smiling. "Ready to head back? this place is starting to smell." suggested Sarne.

The blush that appeared on Sylvari's cheeks almost matched the deep crimson of her eyes as she looked down in embarrassment at Sarne's apology.
"It's no more pleasant for me than I imagine it is to watch. Nevertheless, please don't apologize. You protected me from their attacks and were injured in the process. A little discomfort from losing myself is small recompense for that."
Sylvari's breath hitched in her throat as Sarne asked about the frequency of her episodes. She answered in a low voice, barely above a whisper. "To be honest, it hasn't occurred in a while. I thought I was achieving mastery. Even before now, it's usually only when I am on the brink of death. I was just so angry for how the monsters attacked you, for the difficulty of their defeat."
The justiciar's silent musings were cut short as Sarne repaired her shield and armor. She marveled as the craftsmanship was restored to its former glory, a grateful smile dancing across her face. Sylvari was glad that her next trip to see Magran in Sol City wouldn't be with sundered armor like it always was. Her smile turned into an impish grin as she looked to her companion. "Well aren't you just a dear? I'll be sure to keep your secrets so that you aren't banned from the vicinity of every blacksmith in Charon. Let's be off: to greener pastures and sweeter scents."
Sylvari mimed raising a mug in her little mock toast before giggling and walk in step with Sarne out of the dark woods.
