Azazel stared after the strange little elf with a critical eye. The demon did not grace Rinn's shouted farewell with a response, merely sharpening his frown.



Mortals are more trouble than they're worth.
Cultivating lesser beings is a skill and a hobby that you haven't seemed to have grasped, Arteron. Teach them good tricks, reward them from time to time, and you'll have them singing whatever tune you set them to. He's unrefined, admittedly weak, and too confident by half, but he wants to be something more than he is, which is more than you can say for 99 out of every 100 detestable cockroaches in this land. Drive is what separately useful pets from useless chaff. Who knows? He might even progress to being an interesting spar for you one day.
As long as I get to rip him limb from limb when that time comes.
