Thunderhoof Village seemed as good a place as any for Fish to test out some of their newest experiments. The Golden Consortium was nice enough to let Fish have access to any ingredients they like, but their code of conduct was limiting when it came to experiments.

So, Fish decided to move shop for a little bit and try out a different place. King's Valley was ideal, it had just enough people for Fish to get a good sample size while still leaving enough space to escape when things probably went wrong. There was some method to the madness Fish had planned, but through medical training with Kvasir they knew that different humanoids acted different biologically speaking.

The little bird sauntered in to The Gilded Mare and found themselves a decent enough seat in the middle of the tavern. They took out their chalk board and started writing on it. After that, potions and such were set up around the table in as aesthetically pleasing a fashion as Fish could manage. 

They sat with their little hands folded and feet kicking under the table as they waited for their first round of customers.

Description: A local potion maker has crafted a set of new potions, many of them aimed at helping people, even if in strange ways. They are in need of a few testers, brave heroes willing to take a chance and test some of these potions. They are willing to pay a small fee and spread your name across Charon. Be warned however, these are untested potions and alchemist are known to try wacky things.

Ambrosia followed her guide closely and in an unsure manner. She hated long travels but had needed a few things from the village. She usually sent others to travel for her but had trouble finding anyone this time. So instead she had an escort and guide to lead her and take her there. AS they entered the tavern the guide looked around guiding her to the bar looking to the sign and explaining what it said. Ambrosia wasn't usually the adventurous type but turned towards where she was told the person was sitting "What is the effect of such a potion?" she asked waiting to hear an answer as the guide stood by her seeming curious as well by this. It was easy to tell by the fact her eyes werent directly on him that she couldn't see but she listened to await an answer if possible. IF anything her guide would instruct her on what was happening. If this was home she would have been fine and known where everything was but here? She didnt know the lay out and her eel hound wouldnt do well enough to guide her in such a place. She was a bit uneasy by trusting the other but knew it to be necessary

The bird kept an eye on everyone who had been sampling the differen't little potions. Admittedly, they were surprised at how much interest there was. Morrigan was right, sometimes a scam doesn't need a lot of pomp and fluff. Of course, if Morrigan was here they would've added it anyways.

Most of the patrons seemed to be handling whatever it was well enough so to speak. Some of them did not seem to have such an easy time, some looking a bit nauseous. Hard to tell if that was what Fish made or the alcohol....that was a variable Fish did not expect.

They look up to the woman approaching the bar, spotting her eyes right away they had to create a plan pretty quickly. She has a guide, so Fish can communicate with them easily enough.

Fish pulls out a secondary chalk and slate, "That is what Fish would like to learn. As an alchemist, Fish is looking to broaden scientific knowledge. These potions are new designs that Fish would like to see the effects of."

Most of them were harmless bits of nothing, reagents and ingredients reacting to just create inert liquids, but Fish was hoping to find at least one potion worth fine tuning further.

The accompanying guide relayed the information to Ambrosia. She tilted her head a little in curiosity as she listened. "Fish...? Is that your name?" she asked a bit confused. It surely wasn't a name familiar to her. She wondered what the person looked like but shrugged and held out an hand in the direction "I will try them I suppose. It seems interesting enough and i could use a bit of coin as long as none of these will cause severe or lasting damage to my person" she remarked.

It had been quite a while since she had done things outside of her normal routine and it seemed that this little trip was bringing out more of her adventurous side in some ways. Normally she would never entertain such things but today felt different than others. Her eyes were close to looking at fish as she had heard the direction of the writing on the chalk board but her gaze was still a bit off as she couldn't fully pinpoint how tall he was and so on. Once handed a bottle she tried it before coughing at the strange taste, making a bit of a sour face "Not...delightful really but i suppose that isnt the point"

"Fish is Fish's name, yes," They nod curtly even if it can't be seen. Fish is a creature of habit after all. The bird sits back quietly and waits to see how things go.

The sour face is given a small tilt of the head. They really didn't think to do anything about the customer end of this transaction. Fish didn't seem too worried that they were dissatisfied with the taste, comfort could come after the results.......well after. If ever... Really, if they ever decided to sell these on the market and needed help Morrigan could always help. The fellblood may lack any sort of scientific rigor that Fish did, but they had a strange knack for making things more palatable.

"Fish needs you to tell Fish about any physiological changes that you may experience. Fish will be recording everything." They kept an eye on anything changing on the outside and things seemed fine.....Where her nails always that color? Interesting. They scribble a quick little note.

"Sour taste is normal, Fish has not put any additives to alter the taste as it could alter the outcome of the results." They little bird kicks their feet awaiting answers to see how things are going.

Ambrosia nodded when the name was confirmed. Though it was strange it was nice to know a name.

She then paused as she thought about how she was feeling “my head is a bit dizzy I suppose and my legs feel a bit strange. It feels like there is a warmth spreading through me I suppose? What exactly is the intended purpose of this potion?” She asked lecturing herself for not asking that sooner. How could she not have asked the most important question in this case. Who would offer to help and drink something without even knowing what it was or inquiring more. It was a bit late now she supposed but she wanted an answer and would look for what the others were before drinking them if this test went alright. She continued to describe any changes she felt wondering if there were any physical changes that she hadn’t noticed. It was a bit hard when she couldn’t see especially when it didn’t feel like there were big changes or anything to her person. She then sighed a little when the feelings began to fade. Good so nothing major truly happened that she could tell.

Fish scribbles down every word shared from Ambrosiya, carefully noted down to make sure Fish is collecting all of the data. They certainly weren't expecting so many different reactions, but this was fine. At least there was no severe adverse reactions....at least not yet.

"This one is..." Notes are flipped through as they check their labeling. "Resistance to poisonous materials and gas....which Fish cannot test the efficacy of. That is too dangerous...But it is good that nothing bad is happening. Fish can take that as a good sign. Fish cannot say the same for others."

Throughout the bar are plenty of people who also took the bird's potions. Some are now grappling with a newfound baldness, or gills, or both depending on how unlucky they were. Fish does turn their attention back to Ambrosia and narrow their eyes. Hair loss is hard to see immediately, but there are no gills on her neck so that is a good sign.

"Where your fingernails always red?" Fish tilts their head looking at the hands. They had a few ideas for what could be causing that if it was in fact out of the ordinary. 

Ambrosia nodded as she was told what the potion was meant for and meant to do though she was a little worried about the next words fish had said right after that. she however tried not to think of such things. Maybe it was a good thing she was blind and couldn't see the newly gilled and newly bald people around her "Right then well i am happy your potion seems to be on a good track to progressing and such. Are there any others you wish to have tested sir fish?" she asked listening for the scribbling on the board or any sign that the other was creating a reply for her. She was very curious of this strangers appearance and such but knew it would be impolite to ask her guide right in front of the other. So with that she decided to merely make mental notes to ask the guide later on the matter.

She listened to the commotion around the bar as they went and listened to all that was happening around her. Ambrosia was always on guard especially to sounds near her. She didnt trust many people to get in her space or come too close

Thankfully they had a safe little privacy bubble around them. Many of the patrons who were feeling ill effects were not really willing to approach the bird once more. They would just deal with these changes and never trust a lemonade stand inside of a bar again.

Fish tilted their head as the woman across from them doesn't seem too worried about the new color of her fingernails. That was good, it ruled out ruptured blood vessels or necrosis......though perhaps Fish's potion had disrupted her nervous system so that she couldn't feel pain. Hmmm....Fish would have to observe....No, no, don't run that risk. As much as Fish is enjoying their wildly unethical experiment, they better cut it short before any of this gets to Kvasir or Cyran.

"Fish has this." Another potion is proferred forward, something no one else has had a chance to try. An antidote.

If Ambrosia takes it, the liquid is thin almost like water but lighter. The taste is something entirely different. It first hits Ambrosia like her favorite flavor in the world, but it slowly starts to sour into her least favorite. Fish's attention is keenly on the woman and her fingernails, ready to catch any slight difference in her reaction or appearance.

"Tell Fish what you are experiencing?"

Ambrosia felt for the bottle and upon finding it she drank it, she had a faint smile at the taste in the beginning “it tastes like apple pie, my favorite” she remarked before it began to sour “and now it tastes like… beans…” she frowned making a face expressing it wasn’t great. She explained anything they felt or noticed as she went on. “What is this one supposed to do sir fish?” She asked curiously a bit nervous to see if things would take a downward slide. She felt the table and set the glass back down after a few more moments.

She listened for any reactions or noises from her guide at her side and relaxed a bit when she didn’t hear much of any reactions or anything from the other. Her fingers lightly tapped on the table as she tilted her head wondering if anything happened that she just didn’t notice yet or perhaps it was things she just couldn’t see. Hopefully if her features did change it was nothing awful. She had never seen herself but from what she had been told and could feel she was at least average in appearance. She lightly reached up and touched her hair

Fish would really have to look in to why the potion changed taste...especially in such a drastic fashion. Was there an enzyme in saliva that interacted with some of the chemicals, breaking them down and hitting taste receptors differently? That could be a reason...It was different for everyone though...perhaps a genetic memory in the taste buds? A lot of research was going to have to look into this.

The bird suddenly jerked their head upwards when addressed, "No sir, Fish does not believe in the gender binary. Fish is Fish." They nod firmly.

"Fish's panacea, it simply negates any other toxins, chemicals, poisons, elixirs, sicknesses, and other effects on the body at the current moment. It cannot cure chronic illnesses or anything terminal, but is a good short term fix for anything."

How Ambrosia feels as everything starts to settle and the magical effects wear off is up to her, but Fish watches intently. Nothing significant seems to have changed, any odd colorations and effects slowly fade. A rather gentle experience for someone who has impaired vision, Fish is quietly thankful for that. Ambrosia at least seemed nice, respectful to say the least. Most of the bar patrons condescended Fish which is why they were not offered the panacea.

Ambrosia paused surprised and her eyes widened a little before waving her hands "Ah im so sorry I shouldn't have assumed...Terribly sorry...Fish" she said the name questioningly not sure what else to all them or if there were any honorifics or titles to use in such a situation as this.

She was then very thankful when fish went on to explain the potion and such which she took as a good sign that she hadn't upset them or at least not fully "I see. That is quite the potion to make" she remarked with a small smile "It must take quite a few years of study to make all of these potions. I wish you luck in perfecting them all" she replied with a kind smile. She was always fascinated an appreciative of how hard people worked towards what was important to them. It also took courage to set up something like this in the middle of a bar for people to try. She hoped her answers and testing helped at least a bit. "Is there anything else you need tested or is it just the two for now?" she asked tilting her head to the side a little bit

"Fish understands, it is an easy mistake to make." Truly, the bird does not seem all that bothered by it. "Fish does not want to test anything else, it could have unknown reactions with the panacea."

That and the more Fish fixed her issues, the more people around might notice the bird has done nothing to help them. They shouldn't have been such jerks then. Fish is just doing business. They start to pack of their supplies quietly.

"Fish does need anything else....Are you looking for ways to fix your vision? Fish is usually looking for new projects." They flick out a pen and their notebook, curious about the answer.

Ambrosia listened to what was relayed to her through the guide and paused at the question surprised by that. "I...havent much thought on it. I have never seen the world..."she remarked wondering what it would be like. She had always just accepted it was not in the cards. "I suppose if you wish to try feel free to. I am used to life this way now but I suppose I am a bit curious to see what all the fuss is about" she replied to fish. A part of her was hopeful yet the rest nervous. Would it work? Would she like the world she saw? Did she truly look okay? so many questions flooded her mind at once at such thoughts but she kept them to herself and tried to let the hope and nervousness fade from the idea. No matter what she was her. who cared what she looked like? She had no comparison of what was good and what wasn't visually anyways. She took a breath and straightened herself. "Well enjoy your day then fish. It was a pleasure meeting you" she remarked with a small little curtsey before turning and heading back towards her table with her guide

"Fish will try then, Fish cannot promise results or how long they may take, but science takes time." They nodded. It was an odd feeling to offer to help someone out of a genuine curiosity and just cause it would be nice. A jump from their usually selfish motivations.

Plus....come on....do you know how rich you could be if cured blindness? That is a lot of money coming in, they could even quit crime if they wanted to. They don't want to, but they could and that's half the battle.

Shortly after Ambrosia departs Fish will start to break down their station. Time to go before people start asking questions. They disappear quietly into the shadows before the little scam can be discovered.
