"Oh, I'm fine. Perhaps I'll take a look after everyone else has chosen something, but I wouldn't want to take too much. I already feel bad that my companions are taking so many of your creations." Beist answered apologetically.
Moe walked up to the blanket and glanced around at the wooden carvings before his gaze settled on a small carving of a rabbit. With a happy yip, he grabbed it in his mouth and immediately started to play with it, laying on his back with it clutched in his front legs and chewing on one of its ears.
"Oh, you're damaging it!" Beist gasped. He wanted to take it away, terribly embarrassed that the fox was ruining Del's work, and right in front of her no less, but he stopped himself. It was technically Moe's belonging, so he couldn't take it away no matter what the little rascal chose to do with it. Instead he looked at Del with an even more apologetic look.
"I'm terribly sorry... Some of your carvings might be treated rather roughly..." He mumbled quietly. Thinking back, Sorbet seemed a bit too eager to run off with that bird carving, and he could imagine what a cat would want to do with a bird.
Next, Leon stepped forward, his eyes already focused on his prize. A wooden... skull pendant? It didn't look like it would fit a fluffy green woolful at all, but Leon looked very excited about it. He poked at it with his nose and looked to Beist, bleating.
"Hm? This one?" Beist chuckled, picking it up and taking a look. "Oh yes, very bad-ass." Beist nodded and attached the pendant to the woolful's collar. Leon bleated happily and stepped back again to make room as Dora stepped forward, the griffon seemingly waiting for everyone else to make a selection before she took her turn.
She lowered her beak and poked at another pendant with a small trill. This one was carved to look like a bear. Beist picked it up with a smile, looking touched. "Yes, I see the resemblance..." Beist nodded and attached the pendant to Dora's collar for her, right next to a small silver bell.

"Not at all! This sort of situation is precisely what these are for." Coin was nice, of course, but Del had been living with little means for a long time now; her little carvings and creations were more for the joy of creation than they were a means to an end. Perhaps one day, she would be able to work a forge again, but for now, these little knick-knacks on the road made for bright smiles and interesting memories. Del would never discount that.
A laugh ripples out of her when the little fox-like creature tears into the wooden object, shaking her head as Beist apologises for his companions. "I usually give these things to children; they're toys at the end of the day, they're meant to be played with. Besides, a few teeth marks adds character."
"Did... Did Leon truly refer to it was 'bad-ass'?" Del's smile grows, infinitely amused. They had so much personality. Though Del could not understand them, she could at least infer a little by their body language, and when Beist responded. The grand and beautiful griffin, Dora, stepping forward to select her item delicately, needed no translation. She smiles gently as Beist attached the bear pendent to her collar. If she had picked up on the cues correctly, Dora had picked it because it resembled Beist. That was such a caring thought. "An excellent choice. It looks lovely on you, Dora."

Beist chuckled and nodded.
"Yes, I suppose they are. Well, consider it a compliment then that these ones will get plenty of use. That one especially will have an abundance of character, I think." He said as he looked at Moe again, who was still rolling around as if he was wrestling with the wooden bunny. He hoped the fox wouldn't have the same urge to chew on Leni when the two ever met in the future.
"He did. Quite a little rebel, isn't he?" Beist chuckled quietly, looking to Leon who was prancing happily in a very not bad-ass way with his new very bad-ass little skull pendant on his collar.
Dora raised her head high, proudly displaying the bear pendant on her collar. She looked like she'd understood Del's compliment and it had inflated her ego just a bit. Now it was Beist's turn to smile and roll his eyes at her, unlike usual. She noticed, turning to look at him and giving him an indignant screech that made Beist burst into laughter.
"It does look lovely on you, I agree!" Beist pleaded as she bit onto one of his horns and yanked it back and forth. It didn't actually hurt at all. It was more like playful teasing than actually fighting, judging from Beist continuing to laugh.
He was happy that Dora thought of him and chose a pendant that she found to resemble him. She was the first animal companion he'd ever found, so it touched him that she'd want something like that instead of a toy. It made him think of something as well. He looked to Del as Dora continued to pull his head back and forth playfully.
"I think I know what I'd like, but you don't have it here. Would I be able to commission you be able to make me something that includes each of my companions image? Maybe something to wear or display, like a necklace or a statue. Whatever you'd like. I'll happily pay for it as well." He asked happily before looking a little embarrassed. "Ah, maybe something that you'd be able to keep adding more to though... I have a hunch I may find more companions in the future..."

"It's a compliment of the highest order," Del agrees, watching as they go off to play, and as Leon prances around with the skull pendant now attached to his collar. Her cheeks hurt from smiling so much, at this point; it was such a rare and unexpected treat to get to experience something like this. Beist was easily the most interesting person on the road, at least that she had met thus far... but given her experience over the past fifty or so years, that was a decently high standard as far as Del was concerned.
And indeed, as she watches Dora tug playfully at Beist's horns in retribution for his eye-roll, she seems to solidify that train of thought. It was rare to meet genuinely kind people on the road-- more often than not, folks were simply ambivalent to others, or wished very strongly to keep to themselves out of their own paranoia. Del herself typically fell into the latter category, though more out of necessity than an actual desire to be alone. And the road could be so lonely a place.
If she had what Beist had, this menagerie, this... companionship, perhaps the road wouldn't be quite so hard.
As Beist addresses her, though, Del gives him a look of surprise that evolves into delight. A... commission? She hadn't had a specific one in ages, longer than she cared to try and remember. She leans over for her pack again, to withdraw a battered and weathered journal. "I would be delighted! My goodness, no one ever asks me to make something specific for them," she says as she fetches a bit of charcoal to write her notes with. Flipping through the journal itself, the pages appear loaded with sketches of designs and notes scrawled in a messy hand that were either produced while walking or, Del was just a very messy writer.
Finding a blank page, she starts to take down the request. Something that would be able to fit his companions likenesses on them, or some representation of them. A statue, maybe, some sort of trinket that could be carved into, but that might have a limited amount of space. Unless she made it like something that could be hung along a wall, or something. Her gaze lifts to Beist's wagon, thoughts
What a wonderful way to memorialize the ones someone loved, with thier likenesses decorating the home in which they lived. Past, present, future. Memories were so, so important, weren't they?
Nodding to herself, she gives Beist a bright look of interest. "I think I can come up with a design for you! No need for you to worry about any compensation, I don't have a shop or any such thing, so it might be a little while before I can craft something like this for you. Though if you insist, I can hardly say no. Regardless, though, I would be more than happy to," as she talks excitedly, she starts to sketch, quick likenesses of the creatures in Beist's care so she wouldn't forget. "Perhaps a plaque, that can be added to. Like interlocking puzzle pieces that you can continue to add to, a wall fixture of some kind you can hang on your wagon, either on the inside or the outside." she writes the words 'wooden quilt' as a concept in her journal, underlining it twice.
