Sable Rivien
0f Dragons' Past and Blood
"...is there something you need?"
Gender: Male (he/they)
Age: 28
Race: Human
Nationality: Moonglade - Eclipse City
Appearance: Standing quite tall at a notable 6'5", Sable is a severe looking man. With a pale complexion and sharp features that are framed by long, flowing raven black hair, his soft blue eyes carry an undeniable intensity to them that can be more than a little off-putting when it is turned upon someone as he gives them his critical, undivided attention.
Personality: Upon approach, most find Sable grim and distant. In no small part, his tendency to remain quiet and keep his own consul rather than partaking in idle chatter and conversation lends itself to such, but he is not cruel or unkind. One to follow order, one who finds routines and rules important and incorporates them into his personal life, he simply does as much as expected in social situations to move from one moment to the next with most. There are only a rare few who can and have managed to melt his icy exterior to discover that he carries a heart that cares deeply for others and is quite fragile.
History: It is rare for Sable to speak of his past, but when pressed, there are a few details that he will give to make the questions end. He was born in Eclipse City to a family of renown hunters of the surrounding forests. His childhood was spent following in their footsteps, learning the ways of tracking and navigating dense swaths of land in search of prey. When he came of age, however, Sable chose for himself a path that was different from that of his brothers, turning from the fringes to the larger city itself and enlisting as a new recruit of the guard. As was his want.
The things that Sable doesn't speak of are numerous, however. He will not answer when asked of the small, blue drake that often accompanies him; how it had found him, as one had found his grandfather and as one had found his grandfather's grandfather. Nor will he speak on the shame that follows his family name like a shadow; how their heretical worship in the past still taints their blood, ever-carried on and following them no matter how much distance has been put between the future generations and the past.
Should he not be wholly agitated by whoever is attempting to delve into his personal life, there is one question that he might answer: why did he become a guard? And should none of his fellow guardsmen be present to jest that it is because he was born to be one and would make an excellent investigator or inquisitor with his natural expression and calm, if a bit cold, demeanor lending itself to be quite intimidating, even in his silences, his answer would be simple. He simply wished for change. To break the mold his family was forever cast and shaped into.
"...her name is Celeste, if you must know."
