Deep below the water, the werewolf finally let go of the dragon turtle's head. Its blood flows into the water, its wounds stinging. It looks up with hatred in its eyes as the insignificant beings who would dare to harm a draconic being such as it. It faces up toward the boat, looking toward the werewolf that's still on the side. The reptile, unfortunately, has already made it aboard. Well, at least it can hit one of them.
The maw of the dragon turtle opens wide, and a screeching sound echoes through the water, the sound of pressure building and heat rising. The water in front of the creature's mouth begins to boil, and suddenly, a jet of pressurized, scalding hot water is fired upward toward the boat's hull. The water erupts from the ocean's surface, on either side of the boat. It laps up the sides of the wood, directly toward Edward clawing his way up the side.
The boat itself rises slightly from the force of the blast, and everyone on deck can feel the sudden heat and humidity, along with the shaking of the boat from the sudden impact. Xalmann grabs one of Edward's wolfen hands and tries to pull him onto the deck before the rising boiling water can cook him alive.

Zarius yanks the sailor attempting to paddle back from the railing as the scalding water bursts up around the ship. The steam breath didn't hit them directly, rather closer to the back where of the vessel tipping the prow of the ship down. The steam billows up and rapidly fills the sails and the ship accelerates at an alarming rate. Some of the crew slip and hold onto whatever they can for dear life.
The tiefling staggers back to help the lizardfolk haul the wolf up on deck.
"Head for that break in the clouds! We need to get out of here now!" He shouts at the sailor at the helm.
"Aye! Hold on lads! Let's lose this beast in the storm!" The grizzled fisherman replies.
It's all hands on deck as the sailors recover from the shock of the blast. They scramble about and manage to make the most of the wind and waves kicked up by the dragon turtle's final retaliation against them. The little ship sails right to the edge of the eye of the storm and re-enters the rougher roiling waters of the hurricane.
Once Edward is back aboard, Zarius scrambles about to help in any way he can as they make a mad dash for safer shores beyond the darkened skies and flashing strikes of lightning.

Edward is withering in pain as he is struck by the scalding breath and steam is pouring off of him as he grabs onto Xalmann who pulled him onto the deck. Edward looks at Xalmann and Zarius in exhaustion as his skin has countless burn marks all over. Then, his body rapidly regenerates and heals the burn wounds. Then Edward’s body deflates, turning smaller, and his body hair recedes back into his normal body hair. Edward looks around wild eyed, “Sorry you’ll had to see that. It was a very different experience for me.”
He turns back to see the turtle right behind them, with blood still seeping from its head. It moves slowly but steadily, determined to catch them. He looks at the crew, “Looks like we need to lose our turtle friend over here.” Edward summons light from his hand and forms it into a bolt of light which he throws at the turtle. The bolt glances off of the turtle’s shell but Edward keeps forming bolts of light from his hands and is rapidly throwing one bolt after another in hopes of hitting its head. After a moment, cracks start to form on the shell after it has been hit by many bolts of light.

With the dragon turtle giving chase as the ship sails through the storm again, Xalmann also began trying to slow it down by throwing more fire bolts at it. The shell and head of the beast became cracked and burned , the water around it slowly being dyed red. Several sharks were drawn to the smell of blood, but quickly retreated at the sight of the massive dragon turtle.
The storm had lessened slightly since the group had entered the eye of the storm. It no longer hailed and the waves weren't as harsh, but the sail still strained and the mast groaned from the force of the last bits of steam filling the sails. Behind the ship, the dragon turtle slowed down, all of the damage it had sustained from Edward and Xalmann's barrage of attacks and spells taking a toll on it. It wouldn't be able to catch up to the ship.
Instead, it opened its mouth wide and began to charge another burst of scalding water, this time unimpeded by the ocean water and gravity. If this hit them directly, they'd likely be cooked alive and burned to death. Xalmann looked at Edward, hoping he had some magic to defend them from such an attack, since the Lizardman certainly did not.
With the same loud whistling sound of gathering pressure and the water in front of it suddenly boiling, the dragon turtle fired its blast of scalding hot water toward the boat from behind.

Zarius looks back as the cloud of hot steam races towards them. It looked really bad and there was little he could do about it. He looks at Xalmann then at Edward. They were likely thinking the same thing. The paladin was the only one amongst them that could possibly do anything of use. Now, more than ever, they needed his magic to shine. If they couldn't survive this last challenge, then there would be no escaping a watery grave. He grits his teeth in frustration and then turns away from the two and shouts at the crew.
"Brace yourselves and GET. DOWN!"
He keeps his back to the approaching threat and bears down hard on the line to keep the mast sturdy against wind.
This was it. The do or die moment. Time itself seemed to slow all around them, the rain drops hanging in the air as the roar of the scalding water drowned out the storm itself. It was up to Edward to determine how this all ended. Their success or failure rode on his shoulders alone from here. The tiefling just hopes his and the lizardfolk's faith would not turn out to have been misplaced in the human with the werewolf curse.

Edward sees the turtle beginning to prepare its scalding breath. He summons light from his hands and forms it into a wall of light that covers the back of the ship. He expands the size of the wall and pushes it up against the back side of the ship. When the turtle shoots of the high pressure column of boiling water, Edward moves the wall to block most of the breath and allows the water stream to push the wall forward which would also give the ship the boost it needs to break through the storm and into calmer waters. However, the turtle is still trying to follow despite needing to brace through the storm. Seeing this, Edward launches more bolts of light at it, hitting it several times in the head. The turtle bellows out in frustration and turns around after seeing that it is taking more energy to pursue this ship than it thought it would. Seeing this, the crew celebrates and makes their way back to the mainland. Edward turns to the group, “Well, it seems like that was an experience. I thought it would be a simple search and rescue mission. Who wants to pay for the repairs for this ship we have been borrowing?”
