Xalmann Dakarr
Gender: Male
Age: 19
Height: 6' 2"
Race: Lizardfolk
Nationality: Marsh Flats
Favorite Foods: Chicken, Eggs
Hobbies: Raiding, Murder, Sunbathing
Appearance: Standing at a height of 6'2" with a lean, muscular figure, Xalmann is a dark red-scaled Lizardfolk with yellow and orange eyes with vertical slitted pupils. His lower jaw and the scales on the front of his torse are a pale yellow color. The scales on the top and back of his head are rough and spiky. He has three red slashes that look like faintly glowing claw marks across his chest.
He wears simple leather pants with some sashes around his waist. He keeps some cloth bandages wrapped around his right wrist beneath his leather and stone gauntlet as a reminder of his terrible burns that have since healed thanks to his shedding skin. He also wears a dull blue, slightly ragged cloak on his back, often using it cover his left arm.
Xalmann's left arm, after being cut off by Shaa, has been replaced with a living prosthetic. The arm resembles his old one very closely in shape, but with a larger hand that only has four fingers. The arm is made up of twisting, thorny roots and branches. They are black and grey in color, as if they've been burnt, resembling charcoal. Several of the roots dig into Xalmann's chest and side, connecting the arm to him completely. From the cracks between the wood, an orange glow is visible like the arm is filled with fire. Several flowers native to his birthplace in the Marsh Flats bloom on the arm, all emitting a fiery orange glow. A hollow within his shoulder that can open and close is the home of a small fire elemental that provides the power the arm needs to move.
Personality: Xalmann appears stoic, rarely showing emotion. However, his anger is always burning just under the surface and is easily drawn out at any mention of gods, especially Dagon. He deeply distrusts any form of religion after what happened to him and his tribe.
A man of few words. Very serious and practical, preferring to do the most efficient thing. He hardly cares for the feelings of others. but recognizes that they may need to be taken into account when he makes his plans.
History: Xalmann lived a fine life with his tribe, the Bloody Axes, in the marshes until one day, the totem in the center of the village started speaking to them. Declaring itself Dagon, their god, it told them to do things and gave them advice. Most of the tribe began worshipping the totem, asking it questions and following its advice. A small group did not believe the totem was truly Dagon and retreated to the cave the village was built in front of, where they would store and give offerings. There were several skirmishes between the believers and nonbelievers.
One day, during one of these many skirmishes, a fire suddenly rose up between the two factions. Dagon ordered Xalmann and his tribe to run through the flames to continue attacking the retreating nonbelievers. He promised rewards for those that survived. In their fervor, they believed he would protect them from the flames and rushed through them! But, Dagon did not protect them. Every one of his fellow tribesmen died in the flames, wailing in agony.
Xalmann had also rushed through the flames and suffered horrible burns. Somehow, unlike the rest of his tribesmen, he was able to crawl into the mud and douse himself before he succumbed to the flames.
Awakening some time later, Xalmann felt intense pain from the burns all across his scales. However, he also felt an even more intense hatred for Dagon, who had destroyed his tribe. He swore revenge on Dagon not only for him, but for the lives of his fellow tribesmen. He swore he would make them suffer the same way he and his tribe had. He now carries the grudge of his lost tribesmen.
After nearly dying by fire, Xalmann had awakened the ability to control the flames. He grew as a pyromancer and a warrior, combining his newfound magic abilities with his tribe's traditions of using axes to fight. Along with his fire, he also was able to learn to call on the spirits of his fellow tribesmen who had perished in the fire to aid him in battle. Specifically, he was able to summon three of his closest tribesmen who he had had the most connection with. A skilled scout named Xildak, a short but powerful warrior named Durumann, and a raid leader named Kar.
Much later, in a raid with the Mud Worms on a town, Xalmann fought alongside Jagger with Shaa and lost his left arm in the battle. After going into hiding for a while, Xalmann was able to find a replacement for his lost arm.
Fun Facts: Xalmann hates the smell of alcohol and can cook food on his scales.
