The man was clearly far more skilled with the crossbow than with a knife. He was easily defeated by Xalmann with his axe and fire magic, and left on the ground to bleed out from the gash in his chest. He hadn't been much of a fight. Things would have ended far better for him if he'd just run away when the Lizardman had destroyed his weapon.
He turned back to the rest of the group where all of the hunters had been defeated. Tarkhan and Sarne had both finished dealing with their own battles as well. It was a respectable display of ability from both of them. Xalmann walked over to the bloody mess that used to be a hunter at Tarkhan's feet and picked up his kukri dagger, sheathing it at his side.
Fighting with these two against these hunters brought back memories of him and Granth raiding a merchant wagon and fighting the guards. Both of them had been much more merciless than he'd have expected. They weren't bandits, were they? Well, that didn't really bother him. Xalmann might be considered a bandit as well despite not oddicially joining Granth's gang. He'd helped him kill and steal, so he was a criminal. He just didn't spread that kind of information. He didn't spread much information at all, really, since he barely spoke to people.
"I am uninjured." he responded simply to Sarne's question.
He looked through the bushes and at the ooze. It was fine, unharmed in the fight. The hunters hadn't been able to get past the three warriors at all. The ooze did seem to be acting strange though. It jiggled and pulsed for a moment before a seem appeared down its middle and it simply split in half. Was this all Lloyd had wanted them to observe for him? It was a bit anticlimactic.
