Quest Name: That's a nice boulder Participants: Two or more Location: Ashlands, Dragon's Cradle or Zeinav Desert Post Requirements: 5 posts per person, 200 words per post Reward: +1 Renown Description: The recent eruption at Mt. Drakolt has caused hundreds of massive, flaming rocks to soar across the eastern coast of Charon. The primary roads and countryside around the Ashlands, Dragon's Cradle, and Zeinav have all been littered with giant rocks. They block travel and trade routes, as well as disrupt the local wildlife population. Some have landed on local farms, destroying important crops for the winter, and some have even landed on unsuspecting homes or wagons. Adventurers are needed to help rid the east of these giant stones, some still extremely hot from their time inside the volcano. How you get rid of them is entirely up to you, you can move them to a better-suited area, or break them up into tiny, more manageable pieces. It does not matter how you dispose of the boulders, as long as they are removed.
Sarne arrived with a wagon full of Dwarves. Sarne was no fool if you wanted Rock gone Dwarves were the experts. Srane was another standing there sarne heard the name Caspian as one town folk called him. The town looks like a war took place there with large smoldering boulders all over the place houses destroyed and on fire this was a disaster like Sarne had never seen the proportions of a castle siege. It looked like nothing did not get some type of damage. People were by some of their deceased love ones crying.
Sarne started to walk toward Caspian. Sarne wondered if he was the only other adventure here in this town. People started to stare at Sarne as he walked He figured they had never quite seen a noble like Sarne. The man you see has soft features like an elf with a husky build. He is strong and has swift movements. You can tell he is a nobleman in the way he presents himself, his armor, and his clothing. His piercing green eyes shine in the light. He stands almost 6 feet. His dirty blond hair is neat and well-kept. His skin is slightly tan showing the time he spent in the wilderness. The Harness he wars underneath the cloak, the harness comes equipped with numerous leather rings and straps to which larger equipment can be secured close to the body to prevent the items from making sound while moving. Making him quiet when he walks.
A full-body cloak with long wide sleeves and a hood, made of canvas is a flat, matte grey color, His cloak is large enough to fully cover his body, and then some, able to hide his arm and leg movement while under the cloak. Internally it has a wealth of pockets that hold your various equipment. His armor and cloak have a crest that could be seen on his front and back, A large tree with two wolf heads on each side pointing at the tree with three stars above it. With a black sword in the background pointing down with a holy rune over it and a fire rune under it. The Mask he sometimes wears is a form-fitting gray matte mask. It covers the entirety of the face from the forehead to the chin. This mask looks a lot like a theater mask.

Caspian smiled as he tried to help how he could with things. The boy himself was a noble though his demeanor was different from most. He wore a cloak and a shirt with his families crest and a necklace around his neck. The boy was slim and meek appearing as well as rather pale from years of being stuck in his family home but he was determined to start his adventures and see the world he had always read about.he wondered what his family would think if they could see him now. His thoughts then drifted to the man who got him to step out of his home and into the world, cheeks tinting red a moment before shaking his head to clear his mind. He hoped vail was faring well wherever he was but for now he had a job to do.
As he was approached he gave a kind smile a bit nervous and listen to what they had to say nodding and agreeing to help with the boulders. He looked to the boulders and thought about things he could do to assist. Physically he had no real strength but perhaps some of the magic he had been learning could come in handy

Looking over Caspian the Mousy brown hair, pale, freckles, light green eyes boy. Sarne wondered if his mother knew he was out of the house. The boy did seem optimistic but inexperienced. Caspian had a calm demeanor about him. Sane wondered if he would have to babysit this guy. "Greetings I am Sarne Sequoia of Grey Stone Keep and you are....?" asked Sarne looking around. There were townspeople taking notes of the Sarne and Caspian. Looking and pointing at Sarne and Caspian and talking quietly to one other. and what looked to be a village elder waking there way. Sarne just gave a smile and wondered if this frail-looking man could even help. Sarne was not even sure if Caspian could swing a pick more than a few times. Two of the Village Elders walked up to them. Both were dressed in robes and had versus trinkets on them. They were much older than Sarne or Caspian. witht here graying hair and old eyes. They gave a slight bow to Sarne and Caspian "We are the village leaders and the voice of the people. Are you here to help us?" both men looked like they were very interested in what Sarne and Caspian were going to do.

Caspian looked over and smiled before giving a polite bow "Greetings, I am Caspian Halonen of Capitol Landing" he replied before straightening himself. His family was known for their nobility, his grandfather having been a knight and his father for the same. Even his brother had been becoming known for heroic acts before the earthquakes and collapse of the capitol. Caspian then turned towards the two elders and gave a polite bow in greeting "I believe so! I will help however I can and I do not wish to speak for him but that may be why he is here as well" he smiled kindly.
He knew he wasn't the strongest but he had gotten better as he journeyed on. He still had his cane propping himself up however as he leaned on it some. He wanted to do good however and be the hero he always wanted to be, now more than ever. He wanted to carry on the legacy his twin had begun. His family may be gone but their legacy could continue on at least, their name remembered by those in passing and those helped. He had been practicing spells and such to help him where he was physically weak and such

Sarne had heard of the name Halonen. He knew the bloodline Sanes grandfather Duke Sequoia had talked about some of the family lines in Capitol Landing conserting Sarne was raised there. With Sarne being next in line for the title Sane needs to know such things as heraldry. "Halonen, you say, son of a knight and your grandfather too. I have heard the Name not that I am well known but my Grandfather is Duke Sequoia," explained Sarne. Not seeing any family crest on him assumed he was not a knight. "Caspian, did you bring anything with you to help with this?" asked Sarne motioning to the boulders behind him.
The two elders of the village's eyes widen. "My lords thank you for answering our call for help." one of them says. The other one smiles "We don't get nobles here to often. forgive are unsightly village. But are in great need of your help." says the other one.
The older one nods in agreement with what was said. "We need help moving the boulders from the middle of the village. if we can just get that done we can rebuild the rest of the town, My Lords" The old man adds.

"Ah yes I have heard of him!" he nodded with a smile. Though he never got to leave the house he was trained on the other noble families in capitol landing and such. He then looked to the boulder and nodded "I think I have a spell or two that could help some" he replied with a small smile as he leaned on his cane a bit.
Caspian then turned to the villagers and shook his head "Your village is lovely I dont mind it here." he replied truthfully. It seemed to be a nice calm place for the most part. "Well we should get to work then so you can rebuild and make this place even better!" he added happily. He then turned his attention back to sarne "What is your method to take care of the boulders if I may ask?" he questioned wondering how the other planned on going about it. With brute strength? Spells? Or maybe he had other tricks up his sleeve that just hadn't crossed caspians mind yet. As he listened to the reply and everything his gaze roamed the village and looked at the boulders spread around the place. He hoped everyone was okay

Sarne looked at the elders then Caspian. "Well let's get to work then," commented Sarne looking over the area. looking back at the elders "No worries village chiefs. When we are done here any Lord would be proud of this Village." Sarne said with confidence. Sarne gave village chiefs a nod. Then turned towards the wagon and the Dwarves. "Hammers Ho!" Sarne yelled as they started to get to work as well. Jumping off the wagon teaming up and starting to work on boulders. Srane walked up to a big boulder. "Caspian, what great magic do you have to break this up or move it?" asked Sarne looking it over.
Moving his hand over the boulder. Sarne thought it was still warm to the touch even after being there all night. "This is a nice boulder good rock, unfortunately," Sarne says looking a bit frustrated. Sarne could see the lines in the Rocks there was a mix of different rock types all molded together. "I guess we can drill into the rock then put wood spikes in the holes and put water on Them. Then it will expand and break up the boulders." suggests Sarne "Caspian, what you think?" Asked Sarne.

"Well I have been working on a spell called smashing wave which should allow me to pull water from the air to my hands and it should be strong enough to move the boulders and possibly break down some of it" he remarked as he thought about it before looking to sarne "I think that will be a good way to further break them down yes." he nodded with a small smile. He was glad his powers should be able to come in handy in such a moment as he rather lacked physical strength. We should at least be able to clear the road rather quickly i think. Especially if we can create some levers to move a few while i move others with my powers. If science is correct from my readings, a strong lever place correctly can move something far heavier with less effort required" he added wanting to help with any ideas he could think of from his research and such. The bright side of being locked in a house for years was plenty of time to read and learn things from all over charon through his books and dinners with far away nobles at the family meetings

Thinking on Caspian's idea and the use of his powers. "You have the right idea Caspian and clearing the road first is even better." complimented Sarne with a reassuring smile. "You might not be the physically strongest person. There are things like a sword some people think make them strong." Sarne started to explain. Watching the Dwarves start to get their equipment and walk over to a boulder in the road. Sarne then continued "The most dangerous weapon you have is the mind. Learn to use that and you can win many battles and overcome many obstacles." advised Sarne starting to walk. Then Sarne smiled getting closer to a large boulder. "But a good sword won't hurt." He said with a sly smile. Sarne stopped looking over the bolder. Sarne seems to be looking over the contours of the boulder looking at the grades of rock that made the boulder. Sarne stared at a point on the boulder. He smiled and drew his Sword. dropping back into a stance with his sword level to the ground he was going on to a thrusting stance. Sarne waited for a minute the blade started to glow a gold energy crackling over the blade. [Action] Then the light shot forward Sanre thrust his sword into the Boulder light shot out the back of the Boulder with pieces flying out there was a ring of the blade as it pierced the rock in a weak point. There was a cracking noise as the boulder split diagonally. One side started to fall away. Sarne stood up starate. "Mind, body, and technique can be a powerful weapon," commented Sarne sheathing his sword. "let's see you take a piece of the boulder" requested Sarne. [Action: Blade Skill Heart Seeker]

Caspian was relieved his idea was liked and smiled at that "Ah thank you. I try my best even if I am still learning many things" he remarked thankful for the reassurance and compliment of the other. Cas watched in amazement at the others skill and power before hearing Sarnes words and nodding "R-right then!" he smiled hopefully. He lacked self confidence but was always determined to help others. He would be like the heroes in the stories he read with his brother and would live up to his brothers adventures and kindness.
He took a few hobbled steps towards the boulder leaning on his cane as he raised his free hand and focused taking a deep breath. Water began forming in his hand, pulled from the air by his power, growing and surrounding his arm all the way up to his elbow. His eyes glowed a faint blue hue and with a simple and small movement the water shot forward at high speed moving the boulder out of the way some and digging into it a good bit. He kept it going until it was on the side of the road before stopping leaning on his cane more a bit tired from the exertion.

"That was great. Nice Arcan use of water. "I think you did a better job than I could do Caspian," complemented Sarne. looking down the road Sharne shook his head. "Now five about six-foot boulders to go," Sarne explained walking towards the next one. Sarne knew not all the boulders were going to be that easy who knew what they were made of or a mix of?
"I don't know about you. But I didn't think I Don't want to chop up boulders all day. That would be painful for me and not good on the sword," said Sarne looking around and seeing two Oxen in a field. Sarne thought for a moment seeing some rope and other matterils lying around.
Sarne knew Oxen were trained and used as draft animals. He had seen them in use a lot. Oxen are usually yoked in pairs He thought and why are the villagers not using them Sarne questioned. The oxen Sarne was looking at were large, strong animals known for their ethic and patience. They had a reddish-brown coat but with bits of black. Oxen's big horns and long tails that are feathered at the end standing over 6 feet tall!
"Caspian, think you could come up with something for the Oxen over there?" asked Sarne. "I see we have rope and other materials here could we rig something so the Oxen can help us move the boulders?" asked Sarne with a sly smile.

Caspian looked up and nodded looking to the next few boulders. "True I can do this a few more times but not enough to move those other ones far I'm afraid" he responded in agreement. Caspian then blinked at the idea and looked to the oxen before nodding as he thought a bit "I am sure there is a way to do it yes." he responded before thinking how to best approach the situation and how to hook the oxen to the boulders possibly.
Cas looked around as he thought. The rope would be an obvious piece needed in all of this. "Perhaps if we an hook something into the sides to tie the rope to it can be pulled. If we move them correctly the a small decline could help and cause less stress on the oxen themselves." he remarked thinking out loud. It would be easier than having the oxen trying to push them after all. "Perhaps if there was an area I could make a small stream with my power to see if that could help move it a bit farther as well. If it were in an easier spot like that we could move it a bit father without the oxen?"

"You could make a small stream with your power" mumbled Sarne looking at the landscape. "If you could make a trench to one side we could just push the boulders out of the way with the Oxen. I think that could work on the rest of the boulders," remarked Sarne looking at the next boulder. "Let's get to work," suggested Sarne. The two started on their plan the people started to come and look at the two moving one boulder after another. Sarne and Caspian were getting tired of all the work but preset on to show their strength and determination. It was getting to the point that some people would cheer when a boulder was cleared. After the day ware on people started to bring them water and food now and then. The people were generally happy they were there helping.
Caspian impressed Sarne with his willingness not to quit. Sarne knew this was taking a toll on Caspian it was taking a toll on Sarne. He could feel his muscles aching with all the work. But Sarne was determined to get it all done by sundown. "We have all most got this done. You are impressive Caspian I am glad that you teamed up with me on this day." Sarne praised Caspian.

Caspian was a bit surprised the other seemed to agreed to the plan so easily but smiled and nodded as he began working with sarne. It took a lot out of him but he was surprised by the cheers and gifts from the villagers, thanking them for the food and water quite a few times, smiling more at the cheers. It was strange to be seen and cheered for especially but he couldn't be happier to help the village and make the people happy.
Caspian blinked at the praise as he helped and glanced over smiling happily "Ah thank you! I always wanted to be an adventurer and help others. I am still working on my powers to be stronger. Today has been one of the best so far though!I think my family would be proud if they could see this" he replied, an ache in his chest but he tried not to linger on it. Instead he focused on the good, the people he helped and keeping his family name alive and in good standing so far. The legacy was up to him now after the earthquakes and he was determined to live up to the name and lift it higher

Sarne smiled and also continued the work was done and the road was cleared as more supplies started to arrive. it was getting to be night now and most were gathering around fires in the Village. Sarne and his men made their camp and invited Caspian to join them. Sarne's Retainers Nordic, Dwarf, Male, Naesala, Half-Elf Female, Vamir, Elf, Male harassed and joked with Caspian. making me feel like one of them. They started with funny stories about Sarne trying to embrace Sarne which did not work. Told of Sarne's exploits and adventures they had been on. Passing food and drink around which was not bad tasting at all. Most of the Time Sarne was quiet. He would let out a laugh or say they were exaggerating the truth. When there was a pause Sarne looked at Caspian and mentioned he would send a letter to his family telling them what a great help and hero to the people he was today.
As things started to get late. If there were any leftover food Sarne gave them to the family there. He was being as generous as he could trying to show the correct example of a Knight and what his family stood for. Valor, chivalry, honesty, and compassion. Showing Caspian this was the right way to live and be. with that and the stars of the night high they all rested with a good night's sleep.
