Yasei just chuckled at Javal's obvious excitement. Man, this kid really was eager to fight him. He'd never met such a battle freak before. Excitement was a lot better to be feeling before going into a battle than something like fear or anxiety though, so he didn't mind. He also found it amusing that Javal called him "Sir Yasei". That was a bit too formal for his liking, but he just let it go. Yasei leaned his staff on his shoulder and shrugged, speaking casually with an amused grin.

"Heh. Calm down a little. This is just a sparring match, so it's not like we're fighting to the death or anything. Let's just decide how we want to determine a winner. Until someone surrenders? That's usually a good go-to. If you know any magic, you can go ahead and use it if you want. How's that sound?"

Javal suddenly stops asking so many questions and decides to take a deep breath in and then out.



“Yes Yasei, that all sounds perfectly good, this will be a nice honorable match among warriors just to test our strength against each other. You better be ready because I’m gonna give this match all that I’ve got. I owe you that much as a fellow warrior”, Javal says calmly.



Javal then takes off his signature long red coat, folds it, and puts it next to the nearby tree. He then returns to his side of the field and fixes his orange sleeveless vest. He then unsheathes his blade and prepares for the battle by getting into his fighting stance.



“Here I come Yasei”, Javal says as he charges at Yasei full speed ahead. As he gets close to Yasei he brings down a quick slash at his chest. As he does this he yells out, “Javal Style: Single Slash”

Yasei waited patiently for Javal to prepare himself with a smile. He moved his own weapon into position, holding it in both hands in front of him, and took a fighting stance.

When Javal charged forward, Yasei was ready. He swung his staff to hit the sword coming down at his chest and deflect the slice wide to the side. In the same motion, Yasei quickly spun around to hit Javal with his tail.

The giant fluffball of a tail looked soft, but with a bit of his power flowing through the hairs, it was as hard as stone. It would be like a boulder smacking into him if Javal didn't dodge it or block it at all.

Following through with the momentum, Yasei turned all the way around to face Javal again, his staff held at the ready in front of him.

Wild Mane
Prehensile Tail

As Javal attempted to begin his and Yasei’s battle of strength with a basic forward “Javal Style: Single Slash” opening but that simple attack was quickly thwarted by Yasei spinning Javal around and nearly smacking him with his giant furry tail.



Javal was barely able to process what was happening at the moment. He was only able to quickly side-step the giant tail attack only of pure survival instinct. If his body didn’t move on its own, Javal would've taken a direct blow to the stomach area, something that may have knocked him down in the first move. Javal knew how strong Yasei’s blow was due to the loud whoosh and whirling air right next to him. Javal then quickly jumped back to his previous starting position breathing heavily.



“Woah, an attack like that could’ve nearly done a strong deal of damage. I was certainly not expecting something like that”, Javal thought to himself excitedly as he stood across from an expecting Yasei.



Javal then faced Yasei and said, “Wow, Yasei that move was impressive, I nearly got smacked down with such a strong tail”.



Javal then gets into his previous fighting stance but this time he has his non-katana-wielding hand in the air and suddenly the small field’s environment changes. The air on the field changes drastically becomes colder than it was, and then a storm cloud appears above them. Yasei then begins getting pelted with small annoying snowballs coming out from the storm above them.



Javal touches his feet quickly and his feet ice over; he quickly zooms towards Yasei at a much faster rate than he was before. Using the small moment of distraction Javal slashes Yasei sideways in the shoulder as he hits him.

Yasei turned to face Javal and chuckled, his tail swooshing side to side behind him. Javal had said he would be going all out, so Yasei didn't hold back either. He'd been expecting him to dodge that attack though. Getting hit by his tail would have been like getting run over by a wagon, and he didn't want to hurt him that badly, so it was a good thing he had gotten out of the way.

When snow suddenly began to fall on him, Yasei looked up curiously. It'd just been a beautiful day! Where was this coming from? Was Javal using magic now? The snow was a little annoying and made it a little harder to see, but it wasn't anything the giant Lion-Dog couldn't handle.

When Javal dashed forward through the flurry of snow, Yasei was prepared. Javal's sword hit him in the shoulder as he passed, but it glanced off with the sound of metal scraping against stone, leaving his shoulder unharmed.

"Not bad!" Yasei said as he spun around again, thrusting forward with his staff and striking toward Javal's back. Yasei's reach was impressive, both thanks to his staff being almost as tall as he was and his movement of his grip to maximize the staff's length. It wasn't so easy to escape the range of his sudden attack.

Javal was pretty confident about his attack landing on Yasei. So confident he didn’t even look back to confirm that it did. He waited to hear Yasei react to his blow but it never came. Instead, he felt an unexpected sharp pain in his back and his body started flying in the air toward the tree in front of him.



He felt extreme pain in his back and suddenly a drying feeling started to spread all over his back. He didn’t even have any time to react whatsoever to dodge, duck, or even side-step the blow; the only thing he could do was brace for impact against the tree. Even with breaching himself, it didn’t help that much he hit the tree hard straight into his chest. He struggled to get back to his feet, he started coughing up some blood and his back felt like it was on fire. He struggled to get up. It felt like his back wasn’t cooperating with his mind but he managed to stand up back on his feet slowly.

Javal then spits the blood out onto the grass and chuckles, “Man Yasei you’re a powerful warrior, I was meaning not to go my full power but it seems against such a formidable opponent I must give it everything that I’ve got.



He then walks over to his folded-up red coat and puts it back on dusting himself off. He then takes a deep breath and begins dancing around with his katana. He moved with wild and fast steps in erratic patterns just moving his body to the beat of his drum. It hurt so bad when he moved especially with the earlier blow but he carried on dancing. Anybody around looking at him would’ve thought that Javal had gone mad but they would be proven wrong as suddenly the leaves from the tree start to flow around Javal as he dances.



After dancing for a minute he had a dozen leaves floating around him, he then stopped dancing and turned to face Yasei.



He then raised his katana at Yasei and said, “Beur Style: Leaf Cutter” and sent the razor-sharp leaves flying towards Yasei.

"Oy, are you okay?" Yasei asked with concern as he watched Javal struggle to stand back up and spitting out blood. He didn't mean to hit him that hard. He must have gotten a bit too excited.

But, it looked like Javal wasn't admitting defeat. Even after receiving such a blow, he just seemed even more excited to fight, announcing he'd give this fight everything he's got. Yasei chuckled. Well, if Javal really was going to go all out, he wouldn't complain. This fight was getting fun.

Yasei raised an eyebrow curiously as he watched Javal put his coat back on and start dancing. Maybe this was some kind of new fighting style he hadn't seen before. Or maybe he really did hit Javal too hard. It was hard to say.

No, it looked like it really was a technique, another magic spell of Javal's. Yasei held his staff at the ready as he saw leaves start to swirl around Javal. When Javal stopped and pointed at him, the leaves suddenly flew at Yasei like a barrage of throwing knives.

Yasei quickly held his staff in front of him and began to spin it incredibly fast, blocking all of the incoming leaf projectiles. He laughed as each one was deflected away by the spinning staff.

"Not bad, not bad! Now it's my turn!"

When the leaves ran out, he stopped his staff and charged forward a few steps before aiming another far-reach thrust of his staff at Javal's stomach.

Although Javal was not expecting his razor leaf attack to completely fail like it did, he did expect Yasei's immediate reaction with an attack. As soon as the leaves fell Javal ducked the oncoming attack and rolled forward towards Yasei he opened his mouth wide and suddenly he sent out a cone of ice breath towards Yasei. "



"Surely this attack would at least do something to Yasei" he thought to himself as he did this.



This whole battle Javal hadn't landed even a single scratch on Yasei; he was a bit disappointed at himself to be so easily trounced. Yasei was strong. He was really teaching Javal a lot this whole battle. His fighting style was masterful. Javal was excited to implement it himself.



Javal then jumped back a little bit after the ice cleared awaiting Yasei's response to his attempt. Javal hoped that this attack would land if not the match didn't last much longer. Javal was starting to run out of techniques but still he believed that he had a good chance of winning.



He quickly remembered Yasei’s previous moves and touched his stomach summoning two arms from his torso. He braced himself with all four of his new arms ready and waiting for any potential attack.

Yasei jumped back as Javal opened his mouth wide and released his icy breath. Yasei put up his right arm in front of his face and leaned his left side away from the blast, letting his still rock-hard arm and hardened fur take the brunt of the attack. Still, his whole body felt cold now and ice had formed on some of his yukata. That had been the first of Javal's attacks to have some effect on him.

When the ice breath finished, Yasei shivered and shook himself off like a dog, sending bits of ice and snow flying in every direction, and smiled.

"That was pretty cold. Now I'm gonna have to warm up a bit." He chuckled cheerfully. He wasn't upset about being hit by Javal's attack. On the contrary, it just made this fight more exciting.

Yasei's hands and feet suddenly burst into white flames which spread over the staff in his hand, coating it in a thin fiery aura. The last bits of ice and snow stuck to Yasei melted and steamed from the heat. His chilled body felt nice and warm again.

He didn't stand around and wait for Javal to make another move. With his empty hand, Yasei punched forward right where he stood, and a ball of fire shot forward from his burning first, straight toward Javal.

Javal looked straight at Yasei after his ice-breath attack he simply shook himself off like a dog which javal found very funny he couldn't help himself but chuckle.



He was expecting a staff attack straight to the gut at any minute he braced himself with all four arms ready to take the hit but it never came instead he just heard Yasei mention something about warming up. That was not a good sign Javal knew it; he just didn’t know what it would be next. Soon he saw Yasei turn into flames which worried Javal greatly.



He slowly lowered his arms and shouted, “Hey Yasei are you okay there you’re on fire”? After asking he quickly realized that there was a small fireball coming straight at him.



“Ah fireball not again”, Javal says as he ducks to the ground and then rolls to the left of the barely missing fireball. He heard an intense flashback of dodging multiple fireballs from a skeleton on his adventure with Ak’ka.



Javal was not left unscathed, the bottom of his redcoat was burnt and smoking, “Darn, I’ll have this fixed after”, Javal says a bit saddened.



He jumps back up and opens his mouth wide aiming another ice breath towards Yasei but this time Javal had a plan brewing for this attack he just hoped that it would work.



Ice Breath (Drake Gland)

Yasei saw Javal open his mouth wide again and could already guess what was coming. "Hah, the same thing again?" He taunted Javal and backed up, not wanting to be caught in the blast of icy cold again. He'd expected Javal to come at him with his sword again or pull out a new trick, not use the same attack twice in a row.

He started running to the side to try and circle around Javal and approach him from the back. He held his staff at the ready to attack if he spotted an opening or defend himself if Javal made a move.

Art of the Burning Fist turn 2/3

Javal eventually had to stop his ice-breath attack because of the dreaded need to breathe regularly again. Curiously there was no Yasei ready with a fire attack or staff strike to meet Javal this time. He searched the area in front of him with his eyes but surprisingly the giant lion-dog warrior was nowhere to be seen. He would only admit defeat until he couldn’t move anymore which to Javal could be very soon since his back still ached and hurt like fire, he pushed past the pain.



“Damn it, he didn’t take the bait like I hoped he would’, Javal thought to himself as he continued to search the area in front of him for Yasei. Suddenly the thought hit him, “Behind me”, he quickly spun around facing backward where he found Yasei right behind him ready to strike staff in hand at Javal.



“Let’s go Yasei”, Javal yells as he raises his katana and attempts to go for a diagonal slash across Yasei’s chest against the giant lion dog.

Yasei swung his staff sideways at a low angle, aiming right for Javal's legs to try and speed him off his feet. The difference in reach between the two combatants was just too much. Yasei shifted his hold on his eight-foot-long staff to extend his reach far beyond what Javal's was with his katana.

With the way he was swinging his weapon and the extended reach, the damage wouldn't be as much as if he'd been in closer range, but that was alright. With Yasei's strength, it would still be plenty to knock him over. On top of that, Javal already looked like he was struggling from the blows he'd already received and Yasei wasn't trying to seriously injure him. This was just a sparring match, but it had gotten pretty exciting.

The staff left a streak of white flame behind it as it swung toward Javal's legs, the fiery aura coating the weapon along with a slight glow of white that gave off a holy feeling.

aval was surprised to see a sudden staff swipe at his feet from Yasei thankfully due to the size difference the swipe only barely missed his legs. As Javal continued to charge at Yasei he saw the giant lion dog prepare another long extended staff attack that was light up with both a fiery aura and white light coming from it.



As Javal attempted to jump up from the attack it managed to lightly hit him in the lower abdomen as he jumped. This quick blow sent him back down to the floor he struggled to get back now it appeared that he was slightly burned in the chest by the attack. He struggled to get back up on his feet slightly wobbling as he did it. He was exhausted and hurt from the whole sparring match his chest and back especially were the most affected. As he managed to stand back up slowly he coughed some more blood up and did not fall over due to all of the pain.



After struggling to get up and pushing forward with everything he had left to continue he looks straight up at Yasei’s eyes and says, “Yasei this will be my final attack I’m gonna put everything I have left in this single move so you better get ready”.



He’s barely able to stand he touches his feet freezing them over and magically enhancing his speed. He then spins his body in a rhythmic fashion as fast as he can. Suddenly all of the leaves on the tree surround the blue blur he sends them all at Yasei. He then opens his mouth sending out one last ice breath he then rushes towards Yasei and attempts a final upward slash.

Yasei took a sturdy stance, bracing himself as the torrent of leaves and cold came at him. The fire on his hands and feet extinguished and the skin and hair on his arms and legs hardened again. His staff spun in front of him again with enough speed to form a nearly impenetrable wall in front of him. The leaves collided with the spinning staff and were deflected in every direction. The leaves parted to either side and flew above Yasei, scattering across the ground behind him. Yasei grit his teeth from the effort, but couldn't stop smiling. The occasional leaf slipped through the whirling staff and skidded off one of his arms or legs, a few getting caught in his hardened hair.

His staff kept spinning as the rush of cold air came at him. The force of the spinning staff deflected most of the air to the side, but he still felt chilled as the air around him grew colder. Patches of ice formed on his staff and clothing. When the ice breath was finally over, Yasei breathed a sigh of relief. That had been a pretty good attack.

But, Javal's assault wasn't finished yet. From the bit of frosty mist left behind by Javal's ice breath, he suddenly emerged and slashed upwards with his sword. Yasei let out a sound of surprise and reacted on instinct. He took a step back and swung his staff sideways to knock the sword to the side. Carrying through with the momentum, Yasei then swung the opposite end of the staff toward Javal's head.
