Cirice watches Fish go through her collection with a smile. Its nice to see someone taking interest in her library, even if it seems most of the books are not to their liking. As the bird person settles down to read she pours them each a glass of ale and sets out some muffins before picking up her own book to read.



“If you’d like I can take you anywhere you’d like to go, Fish. I’m heading towards Zeinav next, if you’d like to join me. I’m going to see my friend Zarius in Darkveil soon if I can but I’m stopping in the city before I go that far. You’re welcome to join me if you like. I would love the company.”

Fish perks up when she mentions Zarius. Was she an agent of his? Was this a set up? A spy sent to check in on Fish to see how the bird is doing? Fish won't be so easily tricked. They eye the glass of ale and food warily. This could be a trick. They had no reason to really believe Zarius would target them, but they had no reason to believe Zarius wouldn't either.

Not wanting to be trapped, Fish quickly pulls an inky black vial from their pouch and smashes it into the ground. Smoke quickly billows out and fills the interior of the wagon. The aviankin dives for the back door to tuck and roll their way out, skittering off into the night.

Maybe someday they would realize some people are just nice and not double secret agents but today was not that day.
